The best cherry blossom spot in Ulsan is back again with this year’s spring.
Cherry Blossoms
Every year, the beginning of spring is a big event here in South Korea, all thanks to the cherry blossoms flowering. It was my first time seeing the trees bloom and I was lucky to have the opportunity to see them in many cities.
Due to global warming and urbanization, the cherry blossoms arrived a little later than the predictions. And I was surprised to know that they only stay in that pretty state for around two weeks! I believe that unfortunately, for this year, we already are out of them, but you can definitely plan to check them out next year.
This year though, the winner for the prettiest place to see cherry blossoms, in my opinion, goes to Ulsan!
Taehwangang National Garden
Taehwangang National Garden was one of the prettiest parks I have ever been to. It is big enough to have many areas to do activities on. It was constructed by the side of the Taehwangang River and walking on the path along with it, we could even see fish jumping out of the water!

Aside from the cherry blossom path, my favorite place at the park was the bamboo forest. It was a cool place with shade from the sun and also so pretty. It was my first time seeing a bamboo forest, so I was excited to visit it.

The park has many facilities, events, and exhibitions. But if you are there just to check the nature and walk around, the important information is that it stays open 24 hours and it is free for this purpose.
The Cherry Blossom Spot
Since the park is huge and there are many things to see there. I am only going to point out in this article the cherry blossom spot that I found the prettiest.
For me, right at the edge of the park, they made a deck-like path with trees all along the way. You have on one side the street with many stores and cafes, and on the other, the view from above of the park. It was so nice seeing the pinkish trees with the contrast of the wood and the blue sky.
Here are a couple of pictures that I took there, and it was not too crowded, which made me enjoy it for longer.

After walking around, I also decided to have a picnic right in front of it. A must-do!
Address
The address of the park itself is the following:
- English: 154, Taehwaganggukgajeongwon-gil, Jung-gu, Ulsan
- Korean: 울산광역시 중구 태화강국가정원길 154 (태화동)
But if you are looking for the path, it starts at this location, in front of the convenience store, and stretches for around 1.3 kilometers: 울산 중구 오산7길 37.
Conclusion
The best cherry blossom spot in Ulsan is located at the Taehwangang National Garden. Also, this was definitely my favorite place to see the trees and now my plan is to go back every year to check it out. In general, this was my first (and not going to be the only) time in Ulsan, but I fell in love with the city and its beauty.
