I’m finally here, in Korea, after so many years of waiting. Seeing cherry blossoms again while walking to the subway station on this Sunday morning feels like medicine. I take a sip from my vanilla latte and stop for a while to take a selfie with the cherry blossoms. I post it on Instagram. One of my friends likes my photo and immediately invites me to explore Seoul with her next week. She says she has 5 places she wants to visit during spring in Korea. Are you curious which places she recommended to me?
Seokchon Lake
Seokchon Lake is probably the best choice if you plan to enjoy a peaceful Sunday afternoon walk during the spring season in Korea. Located right next to Lotte Department Store and Lotte World, the park enclosing the lake transforms into a fairytale land during the month of April. Cherry blossoms everywhere. This is the perfect spot for a romantic date with your significant other. Also, if you want to take a break from walking, there are many cozy cafes like Tom&Tom’s or Angel-in-us waiting for you in this area.

Namsan Park
I am certain that you have heard at least once about Namsan Park and Namsan Tower. Even if you are not a big fan of hiking, I strongly suggest you take your time and hike Namsan during the spring season in Korea. You will fall in love with the spectacular scenery. When you get to the top of Namsan, you can see the beauty of Seoul unfolding in front of your eyes.
You will feel like you are on top of the world. Reconnecting with nature while having a walk on Namsan and breathing the wood-scented air will definitely help you replenish your Qi. So, don’t hesitate to climb to the top. It may be challenging, but the view is spectacular. Put on your most comfortable shoes, take your camera and a friend and make the most of your time in Korea.
How to get to Namsan:
Address: 231 Samil-daero, Jung-gu, Seoul (Subway line no. 3 or 4, Chungmuro Station(start from Namsan Hanok Village) )
Dongguk University Campus
Namsan Park, which is the largest park in Seoul, interconnects many areas of the capital. One of the places connected to Namsan Park is the Dongguk University Campus. So, if you carefully follow the signs, you can easily arrive on the campus and admire the cherry blossoms that surround the university.

Established in 1906 and based on Buddhist philosophy, Dongguk University is one of the most prestigious private universities in Korea, that offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs. I had the chance to spend one year at Dongguk University as an exchange student and I must admit that its campus turns into a magnificent oasis during the spring season.
How to get to Dongguk University:
Address: 30 Pildong-ro 1-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul (Subway line no.3, Dongguk University Station)
Ihwa Mural Village
Another wonderful place to visit during the spring season in Korea is Ihwa Mural Village, located close to Naksan Park. Artsy cafes are well-hidden among bright- painted homes, a few art galleries and boutiques, and lots of trees in full bloom. This is what you are going to find during April in Ihwa Mural Village. Want to take some memorable shots? Bring your camera and your best friend and have fun posing for the photos.

How to get to Ihwa Mural Village:
Address: 49 Naksan 4-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul (Subway line no.4, Hyehwa Station)
Seoul Forest
If you want to reconnect with nature, but still try to avoid crowds of people during the weekend, I strongly recommend you have a walk at Seoul Forest. Azaleas, tulips, cherry blossoms, you will find plenty of flowers here. The area I love the most is no other than the Eco Forest that links the Han River and Jungnangcheon. If you are interested in observing the wildlife (deers, chipmunks, mandarin ducks), then this place is for you. Open all year round, Seoul Forest is waiting for you to discover its beauty.
How to get Seoul Forest:
Address: 273, Ttukseom-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Subway Bundang line)
If you plan to travel to Korea and you are wondering when is the right time to come here, let me say spring. Spring is the perfect season to enjoy the natural landscape of Korea and the best weather. If you are already here, no matter how busy your life is, make time to have a nice walk in the afternoon and reconnect with nature.
