Before coming to Korea, I used to watch a lot of K-dramas, filled with lovely moments that made me want to have a boyfriend. And once I arrived in Korea, I started noticing that, yes, even though dramas are sugar-coated, you can experience real-life K-drama moments. These are the K-drama moments that swept me off my feet.

The Eye Contact Crosswalk K-Drama Moments
Tโwas a Cold Winterโs Day

It was a very cold day. I was heading from one campus of my university to another. I was waiting for the light to turn green. At the time, mid morning, it seems like every single student wanted to move from one campus to the other. Both sides of the crosswalk were filled with tons and tons of students in a rush.
Being winter, I was, of course, freezing to death. You know, the weather back home in Chile isnโt nearly as cold as it has been recently here in Korea. So, I was kind of waiting for the light to turn to green so I could speed walk to the warmth of the library.
But, as soon as it turned green, I was swamped in an ocean of students. They were coming and going, so I couldnโt go faster than the speed of the general mass. And then, it happened.
The Cold Handsome Man with Nice Clothes
A boy was coming in the opposite direction, which means he was going to the campus I was leaving. He also looked cold, and he was very tall. I was looking at him because I liked the style of clothes he was wearing, and his scarf looked very warm.

BAM! The K-Drama Moments
Then, he looked at me. I suddenly felt very aware that I was not only looking at his clothes. Instead, I was staring at him. Since I am a very shy person, I blushed hard. Our paths crossed so I moved to the right so he could walk by, but he moved to the same direction. So, then I moved to the other side, and he did too. It took us three or four tries to move to different directions to walk by, and when we did he just giggled and walked by me.
He smelled so good. And I could hear โThe starlight is fallingโ from Abyss OST. I still laugh to myself whenever I think he caught me checking him out โeven if I was more interested in his clothes than anything else.
The Motel K-Drama Moments
The Journey to My Love
For the second of my favorite K-drama moments, I remember very vividly happened with my boyfriend. And, more than a romantic scene, it reminds me of the comic scenes in Kdramas that make you giggle.
So, my boyfriend lives in another city, and I went over during the weekend to visit him. He lives with his parents and we are definitely not in the meet the parents stage. For Koreans it is actually the last step before marriage, so I booked a motel room.
He decided to stay with me overnight. So, I packed a bag and after our long day together, we went into the room. While I was taking my makeup off, I remembered I needed to charge my phone. And so, I asked him to plug in my charger. After I got out of the bathroom, he was holding two face masks.ย
It was the same bag I had packed for my trip to Busan, and I hadnโt taken out the face masks I bought. They were his! We put the facemasks on and started looking for a movie to watch, but somehow he broke the TV.
The Comedic K-Drama Moments

A loud noise started coming from the speakers and the images started to blur. Then the remote control stopped working โ and we couldnโt find the button in the TV to turn it off. In the end, he called the security guard to come help us.
It must have been so funny for that old man. He walked into the motel room to find a pair of young adults in a place normally reserved for sexy time, wearing pajamas (matching, of course) and facemasks. He apologized for the inconvenience and we had to move rooms.
And after we closed the door to our new room, my boyfriend sighed loudly. He had never been in a position like that before. But for me, it is one of the cute little moments that made our relationship as unique as it is.
Have you experienced some K-drama moments? If so, were they romantic, funny, or both? I am dying to know!
