It’s Spring and the rains are upon us. If you are planning a trip to South Korea during this time of the year, you might be thinking of activities to do when it’s raining. So, I have decided to create this list of awesome things to do in Seoul on a rainy day.

I hope that this list will provide an option that will suit you whatever your situation. Some of these indoor activities in Seoul might require some online booking, others you might be able to turn up and enjoy that moment.

Coex Library (Gangnam)

Spend a rainy afternoon filling your brain with knowledge and looking through the thousands of free titles in Korean and English at the library. This is a free activity.

Trick Eye Museum (Hongdae)

The Trick Eye Museum is at the entrance of the artistic Hongdae neighbourhood. It is actually the world’s first AR museum and it really brings the pictures and experience to life in ways not possible before. Not only are there the traditional trick eye pictures to amaze and confuse, but there are also new AR (augmented reality) illusions. During the summer, they have an ice museum too. If you’re in Insadong, then you have even more incredible places to stay dry from the rain. Close to the Alive Museum is the newly opened Color Pool Museum – located on the 6th floor of the Anyoung Insadong Mall.

Visit the COEX Aquarium – Gangnam

Inside the giant COEX shopping centre in Gangnam is the delightful COEX Aquarium. The COEX Aquarium consists of 183 display tanks and 90 breeding tanks with over 3,500 tons of water volume. 40.000 animals from 650 different species live here. This is a great place to escape the rain and see some animals. This should be top on any nature lovers list of things to do in Seoul on a rainy day.
