Due to a renovation plan for Gwangju Shinsegae, the E-mart located nearby U-Square in Gwangju will be closed in September.
Gwangju Shinsegae Department Store announced that it plans to demolish the E-mart Gwangju branch, which it has been leasing as a preemptive measure for the construction and relocation of its department store, starting from October.
As a result, the E-mart Gwangju branch near U-Square is expected to close its business in September.
Gwangju Shinsegae plans to establish the Shinsegae Art & Culture Park by 2027 and E-mart will downsize the store by 15-20% from its current size.
