Sinsa-dong Garosu-gil is very known for its rows of Ginkgo trees, specially captivating in autumn with its golden foliage. Garosu-gil has become one of the hot places in Seoul among young adults, as a neighborhood that is constantly catching up with new trends. It is also a popular upscale street with unique coffee shops, cosmetics stores, designer shops and flagship stores.

<pIn Sinsa-dong you can find many luxury brand stores, local designers stores as well as other international brands such as Zara and H&M. Even if the price range is a bit high compared to that of other areas, shops in Sinsa-dong have good quality clothings with unique designs. Additionally, if you are a person who likes jewelry, this area has many unique jewelry stores you can check when you visit the area.

The Garo Golmok

In 2019, a new cultural complex called Garo Golmok opened at Sinsa-dong. The Garo Golmok is a place where people can enjoy performances, exhibitions, shopping at individual retail stores. As well as delicious food and drinks you can enjoy in rooftop cafes. In addition, the Garo Golmok was established to heighten Garosugil from a mere shopping street into a lifestyle destination. A place where people can experience the cultural richness and diversity that Seoul has to offer.

Favorite cafe in Sinsa-dong

Seoul is known to have many unique coffee shops and Sinsa-dong is no different. Garosu-gil is very well known among young Koreans and foreigners who like cafe hopping. This area has many franchises as well as independent unique coffee shops. Moreover, I have personally visited Sinsa-dong on many occasions, hence I was able to try various cafes in the area. One of my favorite cafes is called Lay Bricks Coffee Roasters. It is a popular hang out place, famous for their apple pan dessert and their strong flavored cafe.

Favorite restaurant in Sinsa-dong

Garosu-gil is also known for having many Korean as well as western restaurants. Hence, if you prefer western food, you can find many spanish, italian and american places. Personally, my favorite restaurant in the area is called Chickpeace. The restaurant specializes in pita sandwiches and meat, rice, and salad type platters. In addition, they have many vegan options and the price ranges from 6,000 won to 14,000 won. If you are vegan trust me this is the place to go.
