Yueon Beer in Seoul is a nice pub around Hongdae with a chill vibe, a nice selection of beers, and a great menu of snacks. It is a relatively cheap place to go and enjoy a night out in one of Seoulโs most popular neighborhoods.
The Restaurant
I found this place while strolling with a friend. We wanted to go somewhere that was open until late, but not as busy as the places on the main street of Hongdae. Luckily enough, we found Yueon Beer. It was the perfect combination of all of the things we were looking for in a local pub.
Inside, it was nice and personal. You can find enough tables just to make it fun and enjoy the atmosphere with other people around, but at the same time, you can have a conversation with the people you are next to. As for the music, they play a mix of pop and rock.
To make it easier, you can order on the tablet available at each table. But since the place is not big, you can also talk to the owner if you want some recommendations.
Drinks
From somaek (soju with beer) made by the house to regular Cass, or flavored soju, you can find have even more interesting drinks, like flavored beer and highballs.
The alcoholic drinks range from 4,000 to 8,000 Won. The most expensive one is highballs, while on the cheaper side you can find somaek.
They also offer soft drinks and ades. These are either 2,000 or 3,000 Won, respectively.
Food
The snacks here are cheap and come out fast. I see a lot of people ordering the sets, so I am sure it is a nice deal if you are going with someone else. As for fried snacks, you can find regular french fries and seafood. The prices are around 7,000 Won. If you want something more healthy, varieties of dried fish and peanuts are 10,000 Won.
They also offer a variety of tteokbokki for an average of 13,000 Won. They are all sets, so you can choose some other dish to come with. Chicken snacks are 12,000. And finally, fresh sweets go for 7,000 Won.
They have different sets in every section of the menu. But the bottom part of the menu is complete with the most common sets, some of them mixing more than one โcategoryโ of food. A regular order from people is the sausage and french fries set. A lot of reviews mention it as a nice choice, that comes with lots of food and for a good price (13,500 Won).

Conclusion
Yueon Beer is a nice place to meet friends and drink casually for cheap. It is usually not super busy so you can enjoy your time without many people around. They not only have a nice selection of alcohol, but also an incredibly nice selection of snacks and foods. Their sets are well worth it, and you can try many types of food at once.ย
