Hangang, also known as the Han River is the main river flowing from East to the West across the peninsular of South Korea. Hangang Park was built alongside Hangang, rendering an environmental-friendly space that people in Seoul can enjoy. It is made up of 12 parks which include Yeoeuido Hangang Park, one of the most visited parks.
How to get to Yeoeuido Hangang Park
The most convenient way to get to Yoeuido Park is by getting off at the Yeoeuinaru subway station and coming out from exit 2. You will see the park right once you come out from the exit.
P/s : You know you are on the right way when you see people distributing food delivery flyers near the exit! If you want to get chickens or pizzas delivery during the picnic, just get some flyers and call the numbers written on the flyers then the food will be delivered right to the entrance of Yeouido Hangang Park.
Vendors at the entrance of the park
Also you will be seeing a lot of vendors selling mouth-watering street foods like Tteok-ggochi, chicken Ggochi, corns, sausages and many more. Not only food, they also provide picnic mat renting service for those who donโt prepare their own mat. The price usually ranges from 2000 won to 3000 won and a deposit of 5000 won for unlimited hours. Make sure to return the mat before 12pm to get back your deposits! Surprisingly they also sell some cute hairbands or hairpins.
4pm to 7pm on Fridays and weekends are usually the peak hours of Hangang Park.
What do people do in Yeoeuido Hangang Park?
We rented some picnic mats and arranged the foods we prepared from home on the mat. There were a lot of friends and couples also having picnics while chatting and enjoying the refreshing breeze and scenery!
These are our food!
We took a walk in the park along the river. This is how Hangang looks like on our view!
Instead of having picnic on the grass field, you could also choose to have your seats here near the riverside!

We also got the chance to enjoy the scenery of the rosy clouds during sunset!

After the sunset, we walked to the open square in the park. There you could rent bikes and ride a bike around the park. Also you could play bubbles like us!

Before leaving, make sure to throw all your food waste and unwanted trash into the big trash bin near the entrance of the park.
Cherry Blossom Festival (April only)
Actually, the main attraction of Yeoeuido Hangang Park is the cherry blossom festival during peak of cherry blossom bloom season at the spring of every year. The period of the festival varies every year but it is usually held on the mid of April. Here are some pictures we took during the cherry blossom festival in 2019.
