If you love to visit galleries, then Yegip Art Museum should be in your bucket list, since it is a warehouse turned into an art space. Which means that it is a place that has history. Besides of just showcasing fine art.

Art is a form of expression that let you pour out your feelings. Not only as an artist, but also as an spectator. Since you can give your own meaning to each piece. And consequently, feel empathetic.
In South Korea, you can find vast of museums in which you can freely go and observe the fine art. But Yegip, is an art museum that gives a different vibe. Since you are not only able to enjoy the beautiful artworks that are being displayed. But also learn more about the history of the area.
With this in mind, you might want to add this place to your bucket list!
Origin
Being in located in Palma Art Space, this place opened back in 2014. With the purpose of giving artists the opportunity to showcase their works. Without leaving behind the history that it had, of course. Since this place, it is just in the front of the two historic railroads. And also, used to be a building of Nonghyup bank (during 197) and a rice warehouse in the old days.

Because of this, we can say that Yegip Art Museum is a warehouse turned into an art space. A spot where the past and present coexist.
Now, let us introduce you to this art gallery that you might want to visit!
What can I find?
This museum is divided in sections. In other words, there are three rooms that you can freely visit to enjoy the art pieces.

First section
Once you enter, you will be mesmerized by the fine art that is displayed. Which pops out due to the modern interior design of this place.

You will be able to interpret each of the paintings as you are observing them. To put them in sync to your feelings.
But if you want to know exactly what does the artist wanted to express, you can take one of the books that they leave at the entrance. Which have detailed information of each piece.
When I went, they had an exposition called โInterbeing 404 page not foundโ. In which the artist ( Gu Kwang-mo) wanted to express that philosophy is like a doctor. Who reads and heals the pain and wounds of the human soul.

Second section
In the second room you can keep looking at the art.
But what I find interesting as well, is that the design of each room is different. But still keeps the essence that Yegip Art Museum wants to convey, which is that it is a warehouse turned into an art space.

As we mentioned before, the author wanted to express feelings such as forgiveness, eternity, self-abuse, sadness, etc. Because that way, he is able to heal his wounds.

Knowing that these paintings contain the feelings of someone else, makes you feel empathetic. And of course, related. As humans we experience these type of feelings throughout our lives.

Every corner of this place, is in fact worth to take a look.
Third section
From the outside, it already looks interesting. Because it kind of makes you feel that you are going into the incorrect place. Since it maintains the design of a warehouse with its heavy door and rusty color. If it was not because of the flyer it has, I would have thought that you cannot come in this place.

The interior makes you think that this place is being remodeled. Since they keep the color of the concrete. Which gives a nice loft appearance.
This gallery changes time to time. With this I mean that the paintings that you are seeing in these pictures, might be different once you go by yourself. And this is because they hold vast of art expositions.
At the entrance, they give you a book. In which you can read in deep the meaning of each of the art pieces that are being displayed. And you can know who the author is.
At the time I went, the topic of the exposition was โExpansion of thinkingโ (์ฌ๊ณ ์ ํ์ฅ). And it was held by Gunsan University. As they wanted to spread the scent and various values of culture and art to the community.
Palmajae1912
