Purple Heaven: Wisteria Cafe in Geyonggi

When all the petals wither away, most of the time, we end up believing spring is over. However, Spring does not fade so quickly here. The season of spring brings one kind of flower after another. It is like an onion. If one kind of flower withers away, another kind of flower blooms. Wisteria is such a flower. Let me introduce Wisteria heaven near Seoul which is easily accessible via public transportation.

It is not easy to spot Wisteria flowers in Korea. Most cafes opt for more Korean classic blooms, such as cherry blossoms or camellias. However, these purple blooms that contrast sharply with their surrounding greenery bring joy to all who see them.

This café is located in Gyeonggi-do near Namhansanseong fortress. As the name suggests, the café is all about Wisteria. During the spring season, the whole café is dangling with beautiful purple wisteria. It is truly purple wisteria heaven. Trust me, you won’t stop clicking pictures and would not want to leave as the café is so beautiful when the weather is perfect.

You can choose to sit inside the café or opt for outdoor seats. The outdoor seating area has a wisteria view. From inside the café, you can see wisteria from one side and lush greenery from the other. Both are equally beautiful.

The café not only has a pretty view but it also has good drinks and desserts. The café offers a variety of menus in terms of drinks as well as dessert. I got my favorite café latte and cheesecake.

The menu at Wisteria Cafe is a bit on the pricey side. An americano is 5,000 won. All of their other coffees are within the 5,000 to 7,000 won range. As for tea, all of them are 5,000 won. They also sell bingsu for 14,000 won. Their other bakery items are a range of prices and change regularly.

Other Things to do Nearby

The café is located right next to Namhansanseong fortress. After visiting the café, you can go for a hike to Namhansanseong. There, you can see the view of Seoul with the almighty Lotte tower and Han river. Although, it is beautiful throughout the day. I suggest you stay there until sunset. The sunset view of Namhansanseong is breathtaking.
