Animal Farms often don’t make it onto the list of things to do when traveling in South Korea. However, they should be! There are farms where you can go for a day and see cats perched atop tortoises or get climbed by a coati. And, there are also farms that double as luxury resorts. Whichever, animal farm experience you choose, it will undoubtedly be an experience you won’t forget. Here are a few of my top choices in Jeolla!
Wild Action House
The first place I’d like to introduce is Action House. Although they are most known for their sheep, they also have bunnies, snakes, birds, and other animals. As a result, your child will interact with a variety of other animals.
I must say that I was astounded by how nicely the animals were cared for. I had previously heard about animal mistreatment in comparable settings.
As a result, I would strongly suggest this place. I was personally a big fan of their beautiful parrots. Would definitely recommend parents with bird-loving children to visit this place.
The price of admission is 8,000 Won per person. You can also buy coffee and some food to give to the animals.

Luxurious Sangha Farm
The second place I would like to introduce you to is a farm that is recognized for allowing visitors to come and explore. They are known for their sheep, but they also have cows, pigs, chickens, and deer on the farm.
Apart from engaging with the animals, what makes this place ideal is that they host a variety of activities such as a swimming pool, camping, and fruit picking. Overall it is quite a luxurious resort experience, combined with a farm.
On top of that, they also have a café and restaurant made with fresh ingredients grown on the farm. They also offer a market where you can get fresh dairy products, eggs, and other agricultural products. I would recommend this place for late spring and summer.
Sangha Farm (상하농원) Address: 11-23 Sangha Farm, Gochang-Gun, North Jeolla Korean Address: 전북 고창군 상하면 상하농원길 11-23 Opening Hours: 09:30 AM - 09:00 PM
Sheep! Mudeungsan Yanggtt
The third place I would like to introduce would be Mudeungsan yanggtte. I would like to introduce this place because of their large field, which covers 100,000 pyeong grassland and is home to over 200 sheep.
I believe this place would offer a precious experience to you and your family. It’s the most authentic farm experience of the three. This is because they have offered hands-on experiences such as going directly to the fence and communicating with the baby sheep and feeding them hay.
Along With sheep they also have animals such as horses, donkeys, rabbits, and other herbivores. This place would be perfect for those looking for somewhere outside and spacious.
In my opinion, the farm resembled Daewallyeong sheep farm in Gangwon-do with its well-kept yard filled with green grass for the herd of sheep.
