The Hongdae and Itaewon districts are well known for their Halloween celebrations. However, these are not the only places to show up in costumes and get a feel for the Halloween atmosphere. I suggest you visit Lotte World and celebrate there because — here’s the fun part — you can dress up and enjoy the festivities throughout the whole of November!
Lotte World is a famous amusement park located in Seoul. The park is particularly famous for its tradition of dressing up in school uniforms, with costume rental services on site. Unlike your typical theme park, Lotte World is right in the middle of Seoul! The most convenient location. While the park may seem small from the outside, it is huge inside. There are 2 outdoor areas and the main indoor area. Therefore, you can enjoy rollercoasters and theme park fun during any weather!
Visit Lotte World during Halloween and November and you can enjoy a variety of Halloween-themed food, games and decorations. There are staff in costume pretty much 24/7! When night falls, there is an epic light show and the rides feel just that more thrilling. Furthermore, for a real adrenaline rush, try the Gyro Swing, Gyro Drop and Wild Wing rides.
You can rent a school uniform costume at the entrance, as people usually do, or come along in your own costume. However, if you’re not a fan of the school uniform theme, in November you can rent all kinds of different outfits! From prisoner and guard costumes right through to adorable animal fits. My friend I arrived in our own costumes, as a cat and fairy.
We had a great time celebrating Halloween at Lotte World this year and I recommend trying it yourself. Even if you do not visit on the Halloween date, you will surely have a fantastic time and remember the experience for years to come.
