Wanna Go Swimming in Korea? Try these Beaches!

The sun is out in the sky, the temperature is high and the monsoon season will hopefully be over soon. So what better thing to do to celebrate the end of the rainy season than to go for a swim? I don’t think there’s any. So, if you’re planning on going swimming, try these beaches if you have the chance. They are as magical as they are refreshing!

Jumunjin Beach

Located in Gangneung, just a little bit more than 2 hours from Seoul, is the east beach of Gangmun. It is a perfect location for tourists because the blue waters and the perfect tan sand make for amazing pictures.

Plus it is the location where BTS shot filmed a lot of content for their “You Never Walk Alone” era. It’s a perfect hotspot not only for ARMY, but also for K-drama fans. Goblin was filmed right there too! You can take pictures at the Jumunjin Breakwater to feel as if you’re falling in love with Kim Shin. Take a moment and be the main character of your own drama. Jumunjin Beach (주문진 해변)

Maengbang

Okay, since I started talking about BTS, how about going to the beach where they shot their pictures for their album BUTTER? This beach is located in Samcheok, Gangwon, just a fun ride by bus from Seoul.

Alongside being able to pose as Namjoon, Yoongi, or Jimin, you can also jump in the ocean for a swim. Plus, you can join other fun activities such as trekking and taking pictures in other picturesque places that are scattered all around and near the beach.

Daecheon

If you wanna go south, then this beach is for you. It is tranquil and very beautiful, and with the right eye, the pictures taken here can become real masterpieces. Plus, this beach is known for being foreigner-friendly as it also hosts the annual Boryeong mud festival that attracts international crowds.
