I can understand it is true that Korean cuisine is based on basics like meat and that even in the broths. But I stop you right now finally Korea understands that it is necessary to develop. So if you’re looking for vegetarian or vegan places does here’s a list that will probably help you.
Plant cafe & Vegetus.
Let’s start with the Yongsan area (Itaewon, Noksapyeong station).
You’ll find respectively Plant cafe Seoul and Vegetus.
It is two restaurants that offer a variety of fusion cuisine, western food rather than Korean. But quantity and quality are there. I love these addresses I enjoy every time. My recommendation?!

Plant cafe
I would advise you to choose the Chili burger in Vegetus and for Plant cafe, I would advise the Tagine of course.

Vegetus
After Yongsan let’s discover the district of Mapo-gu, Mangwon.
Diner jackie.
This area is quite well known because it is a few steps from a famous market. I also do my own shopping in this market. Although I am neither vegetarian nor Vegan in this neighborhood is located one of my favorite restaurants. Diner Jackie. A warm place, amazing food, every time I go shopping this is where I come to eat lunch.

Warning Closed on Monday!

I ate extraordinary eggplants, a real treat.
And if you come with non-vegetarian friends no problem at all. You will find some options too.
Around green & Slunch factory.
In the same quarter, I recommend Around Green. As in the previous, you will find a mi of cooking between both western and Korean. From pizza to Korean rice everything is possible.
Also in the borough of Mapo-gu, near Sangsu station line 6, Slunch factory awaits for you. This is a vegetarian restaurant.
Open every day. Pasta, pizzas, soups, salads, tacos. A wide variety of dishes and even pastries.
Let’s change neighborhoods to go to the cosmopolitan alleys of Sinsa and Apgujeong station (Line 3)
Chick peace.

At the restaurant Chick peace, you try pita and falafels. Portions are generous. The business works so well for them that you can now already find other Chick peace places in other districts. Besides, they have terrace guys. Where it is good to rest.
As you see the possibilities are multiple. But you’re going to tell me « don’t you have real Korean food restaurants to recommend us? My answer is yes!
If you want to eat Korean food and especially vegetarian go to the historic district.
Balwoo Gonggyang
Balwoo Gongyang for authentic Korean food it’s the place to be. Kimchi, tofu served on traditional plates. The food is simple but tasty. You can drink tea as well.
Maji
Not far from the Gyeongbokgung palace you will discover this cozy and charming traditional restaurant called Maji. Just in pictures, the food makes you in appetite. Unfortunately, I have not found an Instagram account but I invite you all to go there for a taste discovery.
Address: 19 Jahamun-ro 5-gil, Sajik-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul
Bon appétit!
