Lovers of all things unusual, exotic and/or theme cafes, this is the place for you! Aqua Garden Cafe: a glimpse of marine life with a refreshing drink…and no pesky aquarium fees. While the Lotte World Aquarium is a popular tourist destination, the Aqua Garden Cafe is a hidden gem. Lets take a look.
Follow the green labyrinth to the entrance of the magical cafe. On arrival, you will be greeted with the view of the coffee bar and its huge variety of food and drink. Enjoy decadent cake and tropical smoothies, indulging in their taste and aesthetic.
If you’re after something more simple, they serve standard cafe menu items like lattes and cappuccinos.
While the desserts looked delicious they were a tad expensive for our taste, so my friend and I ordered drinks instead. It’s important to note that unique themed cafes like Aqua Garden are often accompanied by a pricy menu…
Of course, the highlight of Aqua Garden Cafe is not the ‘cafe’ but the ‘aqua garden’! Take a seat or have a wander and see what exotic marine life you can spot.
There are several different aquariums inside the cafe, so you can choose which one you’d like to sit down next to. I loved how even the tables, chairs and decor resembled the aquarium glass. The atmosphere was simply magical. Amongst the dining areas, there is well-placed greenery as if you were immersed in the ocean itself.
Each aquarium is different, both visually and environmentally. The fish inside are native to regions all over the world, not just in Korea.
From goldfish to angelfish to sea turtles, it’s exciting to see various species of fish in person.
My friend and I enjoyed our drinks in front of a small aquarium full of neon tetra fish. The tank was aglow with bright turquoise and in the photo below you can even see the luminous purple hue of the fish themselves, created by diffusion of their red and blue scales.
This cafe turned out to be very relaxing. After all, an aquarium is a completely different world where the inhabitants are in no hurry. For a moment you feel like on another planet.
The cafe was relaxing, fun and the perfect photo spot. The aquarium theme created the feeling of being in a different world, as if time on Earth stood still. Enjoy the escape from busy city life at Aqua Garden Cafe.
