In a small city in the Southern end of Korea, you can find one of the best traditional tea experiences out there. At Wild Tea House you can experience tea ceremonies, craft your own mixed teas, and appreciate all of the traditional aspects of tea in Korea.
Wild Tea House in Sucheon
Suncheon is a small city in the south of the Korean peninsula. It is not a very popular city to venture to. But, despite this, you can get so many unique traditional experiences. For example, Wild Tea House is located in Suncheon, where visitors get acquainted with the culture of tea ceremonies in Korea.

Guests are offered several types of programs. The first is a tea ceremony, which includes the preparation and tasting of tea, as well as listening to a short lecture. Another program is self-made tea. Below are details of the tea-making experience I had.
Tea-making experience in Suncheon Wild Tea House
Before the start, a set of items was prepared for all participants, which will be used in the process. This set includes seven kinds of herbs, a tea flask, 3 large and 3 small tea bags, decal stickers, and wrapping.

Next, the instructor shows a video that illustrates the whole process. In fact, there is nothing difficult in this, and if you forget what exactly you need to do, then the instructor will always help. Additionally, each is given an instruction (in Korean) with a description of each step and proportions.
Kinds of Tea You Can Make
A set of six different herbs is given: black tea leaves, peppermint, lemongrass, dried orange, dried rose petals, and lavender. At the very beginning, three spoons of black tea leaves and a rose were used. Each had paper cups in which all the ingredients were poured for even distribution. Having completed this, it was necessary to attach a sticker and write the used ingredients.

The instructions contained six types of tea:
โ rose petals and dried orange;
โ lemongrass, peppermint, and ginger;
โ black tea leaves, peppermint, and ginger;
โ rose petals and lavender;
โ lemongrass and peppermint;
โ dried orange
The first three mixes are for large tea bags and the last three are for small ones. It was also not prohibited to compose your own mix. I donโt like lavender so I replaced it with mint. Each tea bag was placed in a bag, on which a sticker with the composition was then glued. After the completion, the Tea House instructors treated us to tea and presented everyone with one bag of black tea.
Location of Wild Tea House
To get to Wild Tea House you need to go about an hour from Suncheon station or Suncheon bus terminal. If you take bus number 1 then you do not need to transfer. You need to get off at the Seonamsa stop and walk for a few minutes.

In addition to the cultural experience at the Tea House, I definitely recommend visiting the nearby park and the Seonamsa Buddhist temple.
This place is quite famous, many people come there. You can see in this park an arched stone bridge (Seungseongyo Bridge), a Buddhist temple where wishes are made, as well as trees that are several centuries old.
