Living in Seoul during vacation I realized how busy the city can be. Although I love it, sometimes you do not want to wait for a table at a cute cafe, or feel overwhelmed at busy bars and pubs. That’s when night walks come in. The night views in Seoul is one of the best parts of the city.
Walking Through Seoul at Night
South Korea is by far the safest country I have been to, I felt a new kind of liberty that I never felt before, which is walking alone at night. I know you still have to be smart about it, but all in all, Seoul is safe enough to just go around and enjoy the city at night by yourself as a woman.
While in Seoul for the first time (back in 2021), I found one sign similar to the one below.
This sign marks a place with great night views. They were named “Seoul Nightscapes” or “거울밤풍경” in Korean. Since then, I have been actively and sometimes unexpectedly finding those spots around the city.
I tried to find a list of all the places, but with no luck. Instead, here is my list of six favorite places around the city for a stroll, a late-night date, or even a photoshoot session.
I plan on writing more about Seoullo 7017, but for now, I just have to say that this is my favorite nightscape in Seoul. Not only is the overpass so beautiful with the lights at night, but it is also very accessible and easy to walk. I went there during the afternoon and then came back at around 8 pm after dinner. The mix of nature and city is in perfect balance. And, my absolute favorite pit stop is the rooftop garden of Seoul Station.
Later at night, there were very few people walking on the path. My friends and I were alone on the rooftop. So, it was a great place to relax and spend some time just checking out the city.

The Cheongyecheon (청계전) is one of the main attractions of Seoul and a must-visit location. This is NOT one of those over-rated tourist attractions. There is no doubt that the place is beautiful no matter what time of the day you go. But, definitely take your time to go at night.
The lights built into the fountains and contrast with the buildings makes everything more amazing. The rainbow lights under the bridge are a favorite spot for many people who stop by. And the whole place can be turned into a photo zone.

Naksan Park definitely makes my list! I love having the opportunity to explore the Seoul City Wall with some incredible night views. Again, the contrast of the old wall with the city background is wonderful. Honestly, it blows me away every time I see it. I walked the whole Seoul City Wall and this is for sure one of the spots that is best maintained for night activities.
Namsan Park (남산공원) Address: 231 Samil-daero, Jung-gu, Seoul Korean Address: 서울 중구 삼일대로 231
Techno Mart Gangbyeon
I found this place while looking for activities around Jamsil Station. Although the closest station to this Park is Gangbyeon Station, Techno Mart Haneul Park gives an incredible view of the Han River, Lotte Tower, and the bridges that cross the river in the area.
I loved looking at the tower all lit up from afar. The park itself has some tables and chairs so you can enjoy your time comfortably. At the location, you can also find a Lotte Mart. So I highly recommend a strategic stop at the supermarket for snacks for a picnic and enjoying the sunset and night view at the Techno Mart.

Seoul Battleship Park
Seoul Battleship Park is one of the parks along the Han River. Because it is not the main spot at the river, not as many people go there and you can enjoy yourself without too much of a crowd.
This park is especially nice in my opinion because of the battleship that is docked at the river. Another one can be found on land. Either way, it is nice having the possibility of taking some amazing photos at night with an additional eye-catcher on the water.
There is also a small museum in the area, so if you enjoy war history and Korean history, this could be a nice stop before enjoying the night view.

Bonus: Hangangdae-Ro Pedestrian Bridge
To end my list, I would like to introduce this amazing place to take some pictures of busy Seoul at night with the Namsan Tower in the back.
I took so many pictures here and all of the shots surprised me with how beautiful the city is at night. A nice extra for people that like BTS: this pedestrian bridge is in front of Hybe, so you can also check out the outside of the building at night.
Seoul is definitely a fantastic city to catch night views. There are still so many places that I want to visit, and so many places I did not list, although all of them are incredibly beautiful. I hope I could inspire some people to find these incredible places along with me!
