Getting your coffee fix isn’t just a way to start the day, it’s a daily ritual that some people take VERY seriously… or at least I do. Don’t pay any attention to the Starbucks on every corner, there are loads of other coffee roasters that are far more worth your time. There are tons of warm, cozy spots that roast beans themselves ready to serve up your morning iced americano or after-dinner cappuccino.
Check out my roundup of the Best Coffee Roasters in Seoul! I am positive that your taste buds and Instagram followers will love you for life.
The motto of this coffee shop is, “We made it because we wanted something real”. Lay Bricks is just that – Real Coffee!
For the taste test, let me tell you their Americano hits different! It is strong. If you’re not used to such coffee I recommend you try their latte or their Mocha. Only the most hard-core coffee connoisseurs can handle coffee this black.
Now, my personal favorite here is the iced Cream Coffee. It has a perfect strong coffee flavor topped with a sweet cream, similar to an einspanner. Their coffee goes perfectly with their desserts, but I highly recommend pairing it with their Apple pan.
For the vibe of the place, it exudes an American, chill vibe. When you sit inside, you can see them roasting away their coffee beans and ughhhh – the smell! The smell is enchanting.

They roast their own beans offsite but you can watch them pour out the best hand-drip cup of joe in Seoul. They make their own coffee blends that you can bring home with you so that the fun never ends at this coffee house!

Yes I know, Starbucks – bleh. But the reserve version really is much better than normal Starbucks.
The concept? Starbucks Reserve is a program by the international coffeehouse chain Starbucks that involves the operation of worldwide roasteries. Currently, 8 are in operation in Seoul. Also part of the program, are 43 coffee bars preparing Starbucks Reserve products, what Starbucks considers its rarest and best-quality coffees, usually single-origin coffees.
There are plenty of coffee roasters in Seoul, these are just a few of my favorites. Feel free to recommend some more on the comments below ~
