I am a big fan of skincare and Korean skincare in particular. Among skincare fanatics, it is a well-known fact that any morning routine should start with a good sunscreen. Applying sunscreen is the best way to preserve youthful-looking skin. Over the years I have tried many types of sunscreens from different Korean brands. In this article, I want to share my three all-time favorite Korean sunscreens
Innisfree is by far my favorite Korean skincare and cosmetic brand. Overall, I respect the brand’s drive to promote natural-based products at affordable prices. Innisfree’s daily mild sunscreen is one of my favorite products from the brand. I have been using this Korean sunscreen for over 5 years now.
The daily mild sunscreen from Innisfree has SPF50+. The sunscreen is water-based, rather than oil-based. This means that the sunscreen is super moisturizing, leaving the skin super fresh and glowy.
Personally, I have a combined skin that is usually very oily during the summertime but dry in the winter. This product works well for me throughout the whole year. Additionally, the daily mild sunscreen can be a great substitute for a primer if you like applying make-up.
To me, Espoir brand was a makeup brand and nothing more. That was until I discovered their water splash suncream and fell in love with the brand. To be honest, I was very skeptical about sunscreens with a watery feel. I preferred mild-type sunscreens. However, Espoir’s water splash sunscreen changed my mind.
As the name indicates, this sunscreen is water-based in a cream formula. I highly recommend this product to people with oily skin. It gets absorbed into the skin very quickly, leaving it glowy but without an oily residue. Personally, I love using this product in winter because it helps me get some much needed hydration.
I heard so much about the Dr.G green mild-up sunscreen and I finally got to try it this summer. The Dr.G sunscreen is a physical sunblock. It uses zinc oxide as a mineral-based ingredient. These particular types of sunscreen are good because they use the mineral on top of the skin to reflect the UV rays instead of absorbing them.
I read from many sources that this sun bock is particularly good for oily skin. On the first try, I was surprised by the thick texture and I was a little bit disappointed.
In fact, this sunscreen is tricky when it comes to its application. It will usually take a few seconds before it completely absorbs. And so, you might feel like you are putting plaster on your face. In my case, I was skeptical about this sunscreen, especially for the first few days. However, I got used to it and I felt really gentle on the skin. Plus, it leaves a matt finish which is perfect for humid summers.
