Tokyo Donburi is a Japanese restaurant in Daejeon Skyroad where you can find cheap and delicious dishes. The restaurant is a nice option if you want to try Japanese-style food, like the famous Tonkatsu on a budget.
The Food
At Tokyo Donburi you can find many traditional Japanese dishes like the Tonkatsu and Ramen, but also some very reasonably-priced salmon sushi and albap.
You can also find some Korean-style options as well with spicy sauce and kimchi on them.
They also have sets that include small portions of a few different dishes featured on their menu. With the sets, you can try lots of menu items in an affordable way.
The Prices
As a college student, I always try to find the best value for my food, and Tokyo Donburi is definitely one of those places that is student-budget friendly.
I ordered a normal tonkatsu main plate for โฉ6,500 and the amount of food I received was enough to suit my needs. The photo below was the dish that I ordered simple but still, very delicious.
If you are interested in sushi, they sell the ten unit sets of sashimi for โฉ9,000 and eight pieces of mixed sushi for โฉ11,000.
The albap also goes for as cheap as โฉ6,000 and ramen for โฉ6,500.
The sets with tonkatsu and udon have a price of โฉ11,000.

Something Special
Now for what sets the place apart. Living in the interior of South Korea, it is rare to find an unlimited self-serve side dish bar of this caliber.
They change out the side dishes each time one runs out, so you can get different sides every time you come. But, the time that I was there, they had fried dumplings, kimchi, and some pickled vegetables.
The dumplings were a nice touch. At other places, they would have been the main dish on their own. However, as an unlimited side, it made the meal even more of a steal. It was beyond worth it for the price I paid.
The Service
You can order your own food and pay at the kiosk located by the entrance. The machine accepts both cards and cash.
Although they make the food on the spot, it takes less than 10 minutes for the plates to be ready. So you donโt have to worry about waiting a long time to get your food.
Conclusion
The restaurant Tokyo Donburi at Daejeon skyroad is a good option for a quick, cheap, and unique meal. If you are in Daejeon, this could be a nice place to stop by for a reasonably priced lunch.
