The Correct Sushi is a cost-effective option for sushi and other Japanese dishes in Seoul. Correct sushi offers all of the classic options we know and love. It has a few different locations throughout the city, making it a convenient option for sushi lovers on a budget.
The Correct Sushi (올바른스시) was recommended to me by a friend, and we decided to go together. It is very close to a subway station, so we did not have to walk much to get to the restaurant. I arrived at night so the outside was all lit up. The Correct Sushi looked super nice at night and its brick walls and bright lights contrasted very well with the wood details and decorations on the outside of the building.
The place was spacious and the tables were wide. Also, I noticed that everything was extremely clean, and the staff took a lot of care of the hygiene of the restaurant.
They have a lunch menu that, unfortunately, I did not get to try because I went during dinner hours. But for those who are interested, the lunch menu is available from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. The lunch menu includes sets at a discounted price, making them even more affordable.
Variety Sushi Sets
For the assorted sushi, they have multiple sets with different prices and quantities of sushi.
One of their most popular sets is the assorted 10 piece sushi set, it comes with 10 pieces of sushi. It includes one piece of tuna, one flatfish, a couple of salmon pieces, two pieces of seasonal fish, one piece of king shrimp, one pickled shrimp, one egg, and one swordfish sushi. The price for the set is ₩13,000 and it is the cheapest available sets, other than the ones on the children’s menu.
The most expensive sushi set they offer is ₩30,000, and it also comes with 10 pieces. However, it includes premium grade freshly caught tuna.
The two sets I personally recommend ar the Second Special Sushi and the Vip Sushi. The Second Special Sushi comes with 12 pieces for ₩16,000 and the Vip Sushi with 14 pieces for ₩26,000. The second special sushi is similar to their 10 piece set, however it comes with an additional seasonal piece and an octopus roll sushi. The VIP set features more expensive seafood such as abalone, eel, and sea urchin. While it is a bit pricey, it is a great option if you are feeling fancy.
Single Sushi Sets
You can also choose to have plates of sushi with only one type of fish. Many people who are exclusive tuna, shrimp, or salmon fans may find this option apealing. These sets range from ₩15,000 to ₩19,000, and they all have 10 pieces. For this part, the recommended is the salmon sushi for ₩16,000 and the Cheese Shrimp Grill Sushi, for ₩17,000.
Plates of sushi with two varieties are also available, ranging from ₩18,000 to ₩19,000. And also individual units are possible to be purchased.
Non Sushi Options
The Correct sushi also sells some sashimi bowls. They consist of rice, a few slices of fish, and a few veggie toppings. For those who aren’t fans of raw fish, this can be a great option. In particular the eel rice bowl includes cooked eel and is delicious!
Other than fish, they also serve Udon, Buckwheat Noodles, and Nagasaki Ramen Noodles. Each is only ₩9,000.
I chose the Sliced Raw Salmon Rice bowl for ₩10,000 and it was delicious! It was my first time trying a dish like this in Korea. It reminded me of a poke bowl. Here is a picture of it.
The size of the bowl was big and filled me right up. However it didn’t make me feel too heavy as everything was light and fresh. Overal, it was the perfect meal!
The Correct Sushi in Seoul was a great affordable place for fresh fish and sushi. Their portions are fair for the price and I definitely plan on going back to try more of their great menu items.
