Have you ever been to the garden of morning calm?
The Garden of Morning Calm is a large arboretum that features different flowers, plants, and trees. It is the oldest private garden in Korea. Moreover, the name Garden of Morning Calm reminds us that Korea is often known as the “land of morning calm”. Also, it was founded by Professor Han Sang Kyung, who had the vision to create a beautiful, world-class garden that embraces the beauty of Korea as, the “Land of Morning Calm”.
Garden of Morning Calm by Season
The flowers are vibrantly blossoming that brings fresh signs of spring. During spring you will witness a Wild Flower Exhibition and a Spring Festival.
The trees become greener and colorful groups of flowers blossom which show beauty similar to spring. During summer, the garden will welcome you with an Iris Festival, Hydrangea Festival and Exhibition, and Rose of Sharon Festival and Exhibition.
In fall, you can see everywhere stunningly colored mountains covered in colorful leaves of autumn trees. During autumn, there is a Chrysanthemum Exhibition and Maple Festival. You will see the garden full of abundant and beautiful colors of autumn.
In winter, the garden which was once colorful in spring, summer, and autumn, is now covered with white snow. During winter, they held a Lighting Festival in the garden. You’ll get a chance to see a bright colorful garden on a cold winter night.
Korean Dramas Filmed Here
In the k-drama, Love in the Moonlight or Moonlight Drawn By Clouds, aired in 2016, the garden is part of the Royal Palace. My favorite actor and the adorable actor Park Bo-gum, and the gorgeous actress Kim Yoo-Jung starred in this drama that portrays a youth romance drama set in the 19th century Joseon Dynasty.
The drama, She Was Pretty, starring Park Seo-Joon (Ji Sung-Joon) and Hwang Jung-Eum (Kim Hye-Jin), also shoot in the garden their picnic scene in the final episode. This is a romantic comedy-drama aired in 2015, based on a true story about two former acquaintances who meet again at a fashion magazine’s publishing office.
Another drama, I’m Not a Robot, also filmed some cute scenes in the garden. It is also a series aired in 2017 starring the lovely actress Chae Soo-Bin and charming actor Yoo Seong-Ho. The drama is about a wealthy man who suffers from a severe allergy when interacting with other people that end up falling in love with a woman who pretends to be a robot.
The garden was just so beautiful, and I can understand why it got featured in many Korean dramas. I would want to come back again here next time. There are also lots of photo zones here. You might as well visit this garden, enjoy the stroll through the beautifully landscaped garden and the calmness at this attraction.
