Teobeok Cafe: Geumgang Cafe

Nestled in the serene countryside of Nonsan lies a charming cafe named Teobeok, which has become a must-stop for students and staff, both from Geumgang University and the nearby elementary school. The cafe, which is run by a talented carpenter, has earned a reputation for its cozy ambiance, delectable menu, and unique wooden products.

The Cafe and Atmosphere

The owner of Teobeok takes pride in crafting the furniture himself. And, the attention to detail is evident in every piece. The tables and chairs are made of sturdy wood, with intricate carvings and beautiful finishes that add warmth and character to the cafe.

The wooden furniture, combined with the soft lighting and warm decor, creates an inviting atmosphere that makes the cafe a popular spot for students to unwind and relax.

Teobeok’s location near Geumgang University and the elementary school makes it a convenient stop for students and workers looking for a quick snack or a cozy place to study.

Menu

The menu at Teobeok features a variety of sweet and savory treats, including freshly brewed coffee, tea, pastries, sandwiches, and desserts.

The cafe and pastries are made fresh by the owner and his wife. Personally, I think the best part is the affordable price of everything there. All the drinks are less than 6,000 KRW, and the most expensive item on the menu is the dessert waffle for 6,500 KRW.

They have a variety of teas, non-caffeinated drinks, and of course, coffee drinks.

Famous drinks are their strawberry latte and their real sweet potato latte.

Exhibition

In addition to its food and cozy atmosphere, Teobeok also offers a unique exhibition experience. On one side of the cafe, there is a small container filled with handmade wooden products, including massage devices. Each item has a story to tell, and the owner takes pride in sharing the history and craftsmanship behind each product.

For students and visitors looking to take home a piece of Teobeok’s charm, the wooden products make the perfect souvenir. Not only are they beautiful and functional, but they also carry with them the essence of the cafe’s rustic charm and the owner’s passion for craftsmanship.

Location and Working Hours

Teobeok is open from 10 am to 8:30 pm on weekdays and until 9 pm on weekends. The cafe is closed on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. The address of the cafe is 충남 논산시 상월면 선비로 1292.

Conclusion

Overall, Teobeok is a true gem for anyone looking for a cozy spot to relax, study, or grab a bite to eat. The wooden furniture and handmade products add character and warmth to the space, while the delicious menu and friendly staff make it a popular destination for students and visitors alike. Whether you’re in the mood for a quiet study session, a delicious meal, or some unique wooden souvenirs, Teobeok has something for everyone.
