Sometimes, life in Seoul can be too stressing due to its fast pace. However, there are some getaways where you can get rid of your worries and take a deep breath. We are about to introduce you three of them.

hNaksan Park (낙산공원)

Cheonggyecheon Stream (청계천)

Get away from the city’s fast paced life by traveling around downtown Seoul through its modern 10.84km-long river! Which it does not only offer great views during day-time, but also during night-time.

Iluminated by warm lights along its length, it is the perfect place to chill during night-time. Especially because of the calming sound of the water and nature, that will string along with you.

Cheonggyecheon is filled with countless stories. Since it carries the memory of each citizen of Seoul by being in its history for 600 years.

From July 2003 to September 2005, Cheonggyecheon sought a tremendous transformation. The construction was aimed at converting this place into a resting area for citizens. Due to this, it was restored, making it into what it is now, a modern stream that passes under 22 bridges of Seoul’s downtown.

The stream starts from Cheonggye Plaza, where various cultural event took place.

Nowadays, this plaza has also become an art space. Due to this, on weekends street artists gather to perform. You can indeed feel the artists’ emotion through their creative stages. Hence, you can visit Gwanggyo Galleria and Cheonggye Studio if you want to see more art.

This river is indeed one of the best places to de-stress. You can peacefully sit down at its side and enjoy the relaxing sound of the water, while having a nice view of the picturesque scenario that its colorful lights offer.

Naksan Park (낙산공원)

If you want to stroll along a great night city view, then this place is for you!

Naksan Park is a place where you can walk along the fortress wall and enjoy the night view of Seoul. Because of this, it is the perfect place for those who really love hiking, since its mountain is a little over 100 meters high. Due to this, you need to walk in the rocky path to arrive to the main area of the park.

If you are reluctant to go hiking, do not worry! There is a path that requires less effort, coming from Daehangno.

a path full of history

The Joseon Dynasty (조선시대) built four fortresses based on Feng Shui principles. Among them, Naksan Moutain, which is equivalent to the Jwachungyong (좌청룡). Back then, its name was Nakta Mountain (낙타산), because its terrain resemble a camel’s back.

It is impressive how nowadays we can freely walk on the side of this historical fortress. Its perfect architecture makes it pleasing to the eyes, and of course, a good photo spot. Therefore, it is one of the best places to take a peaceful stroll during night-time in Seoul.

why should I go there?

The path is pretty relaxing due to the fact that you are sorrounded by nature. Plus the wide view of the city, and the warm color from the lights, which brightens your way through the dark. These lights, actually give a romantic look to the place. No wonder is a famous spot for dates.

Besides, there are several resting areas where you can have a drink while seeing the city from afar.

It is woth to mention that it is near Ihwa Mural Village, in case you wonder how it looks like during night-time!

Yeouido Hangang Park (여의도 한강공원)

Nothing better than to take a stroll along the Han River!

Personally, this is my favorite place to wander around the night. Because not only you have a great view from the Han river, but also from the city. Due to this, the vibrant city lights reflect beautifully in the water, making it hipnotizing to look at.

What I like the most about this place is that it has several resting areas, where you can lay down and just relax along the night view. But just bewhare! It is way too comfortable and you might fall asleep sooner or later.

No matter how many times you have already been in this place, there is always a new spot awaiting to be discovered. This is because this place is big, so there is a lot to explore.

Hence, its surroundings make it an instagrammable place!

It is worth to mention this is one of the turtistic spots where you can find the ‘I Seoul U’ sign! Consider yourself lucky if you ever find it empty, without people waiting in line to take a picture.
