If you have a few days off from work or school in South Korea and want to travel alone, donโt hesitate! There are so many amazing places for a solo trip! This is my personal experience traveling solo to Songdo Beach, Busan!
Getting Ready for My Solo Trip
I stuffed my grey backpack full of clothes, grabbed my headphones and my ticket, and I was on my way to Dong Seoul Bus Terminal!
Fromย Jamsilย toย Ganbyeon, I took the subway. Once I arrived inย Gangbyeon, I exited the station, crossed the street, and found the main entrance of the bus terminal. I stopped for a few seconds. The marvelous smell of freshย ddeokpokkiย filled the air.
I wanted to some, but I remembered right away that my stomach is quite fussy in the morning and cannot take spicy food at 9 am.ย However, I was more than ready for my solo trip to Busan. First stop, Songdo Beach!
Departing from Seoul for my Solo Trip
I overcame temptation and made my way to the bus terminal. Since it was my first time taking the intercity bus, I had no idea where to go. I tried to read the destinations and the departure times on the big screen: Osan, Suwon, Wonju, Daeguโฆbut I cold not find Busan.

In my hands, there was a one-way ticket to Busanโฆ. I thought to myself, โShould I go upstairs? Noย no, I donโt think itโs there. But itโs platform Mโฆ should I?โ. In the end, I took the stairs and finally found the right way to the bus.
Even though I have motion sickness, I decided to take the bus instead of a train because itโs cheaper and more comfortable. What do you think? Would you takeโฆthe train to Busan? Hahaย
Bus fare:
- Excellent: 36,200ย KRW
- Economy: 24,300 KRW
- Late Night: 39,800 KRW

Arriving in Busan
After 4 hours of dozing on the bus and taking pictures left and right, I finally arrived at Busan Central Bus terminal. Which, was really close toย Nopoย subway station, line no.1.

I got off the bus, stopped at a tourist info booth, grabbed a city map and some nice postcards (I love free stuff by the way), and took the train toย Jagalchiย station. Iโm glad I could use the same T-money card I use in Seoul. The first stop I was headed toโฆSongdo Beach. Maybe not as popular asย Haeundae, but I dare to say more beautiful, especially during nighttime.ย
Finally, I could feel the breeze again after such a long wait. My salty air-deprived soul was in the middle of a revelation. I smelled the algae-infused water again. Happy to meet my old friends, the seagulls, again too.

Instead of taking the stairs, I simply jumpped in the sand ready to worship the sea. A moment of silence. I closed my eyes and I tried to exhale away all of the stress. I filled my lungs with clean molecules of oxygen and waited.
The waves gently splashed the shore making me feel at peace with myself again. No doubts. No worries. Just enjoying the moment. I always loved going on a solo trip. If you have never tried traveling by yourself, I strongly advise you do so. It will be an eye-opening experience.ย
Solo Trip at Songdo Beach
Songdo Beach is located onย Songdohaebyeon-ro, Seo-gu, Busan and attracts numerous tourists every year. Very close to the beach, you can find the Songdo Cloud Walk, a splendid spot, perfect for an evening stroll or for an Insta photo session. Open all year round, you can visit this place whenever your heart tellsย youย to do so.ย ย

Moreover, close to the beach, you will find a big variety of restaurants andย cozy coffee shops. Also, if you are looking for a place to stay overnight, there are many options to choose from. For only a few dollars per night, you can book a nice place close to the beach. Since Songdo Beach is close toย Ammanย Park andย ย Gamcheonย Culture Village, I strongly recommend you visit these places as well. They are only a fewย busย stops away from the beach. So, no need to stress out about transportation. However, if it happens to lose your way, donโt hesitate to ask the locals for directions. Busan people are really kind and warm-hearted, ready to help you.ย
