What is your favorite season in Korea? Korea is beautiful all-year-round but my favorite among its four seasons is definitely the spring. Spring season in Korea starts from March to May. During the spring, Korea is painted in pink by the abundant cherry blossom trees. The peak dates for the blossoming of spring flowers vary per year and per region but cherry blossom trees are usually in full bloom by April. The weather is somewhat similar to late Autumn but with chances of rain. It is the best time to visit Korea if you want to experience the Cherry Blossom Festivals such as the Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival in Seoul.
Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival usually takes place on the first to second week of April. It is a popular dating place of many locals during the spring season in Seoul. The festival features many activities such as mini concert, busking perofrmances, singing contests, experience program and some activity booths.
When you visit the Seokchon Lake Spring Festival, you can experience various activities and see attractions that will surely make you amaze by it.
Of course, the festival wouldn’t be complete without the many cherry blossom trees that you can see at the venue. Even at night, the pink colors of the cherry blossom flowers in full bloom will really captivate your eyes. The trees surround the Seokchon lake so make sure to prepare for a ong walk if you want to see all of it.
You can also take pictures with different flower and art installations at the festival.
These decorations make the festival more vibrant and interactive.
In addition to flower and art installations, there are also LED lights around the area that lights up the festival at night. There are also lights highlighting the cherry blossom trees with ever-changing colors.
The Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival is actually held around the lake surrounding the Lotte World so you can enjoy the rides and other amusement activities in Lotte World while being mesmerized by the cherry blossoms. Learn more about Lotte World here.
Moreover, visitors can have a nice view of the famous Lotte World Tower from the Seokchon Lake. There is an area at the lake where you can take photos with the tower as your background.
And lastly, there are different activity booths situated around the lake. One of those is a booth where you can get a caricature (portrait) of yourself and your companion.

Take Seoul Subway Line 2 or 8 and get off at Jamsil Station, exit 3. Or take Seoul Subway Line 8 and get off at Seokchon Station, exit 8. Then walk for about 200 meters.
Aside from Seokchon Lake Spring Festival, you can also visit the Yeongdeungpo Yeouido Spring Flower Festival in Seoul.
