Things to Do Seoul

Roller skating in Korea

Goodbye snow and ski trips, Hello to warmer weather and roller skating~ Let’s bring it back old school with our two wheels, shaky legs and pop music.

Whether you’re looking for a fun activity to do in Seoul or want to destress, Roller skating is ideal for you. Although it doesn’t seem as a popular activity in Seoul, it exists i promise. And you can see more and more kids in the parc skateboarding which is pretty cool and less embarrassing if you wan to do it in public.

Indoor roller skating

You may not know it but Seoul has different places where you can roller skate. You can get your tickets there, price may differ depending on the amount of time you are spending there. The places usually got you covered by including the safety gear that you’ll need in the price as well as the roller skates!

Here are a few suggestions:

If you’re looking for places around you where to skate, check out this list.

Outdoor skating

In-line, Roller Skating

If you love skating outdoor, you can enjoy the view and breathe some air at Hangang Riverside Park offers bicycle paths where in-line skating is possible. The asphalt/concrete trail goes from Yeouido to Gangdong. The park also has  two outdoor skating rinks, for both in-line and roller skating – Ichon-dong and Jamsil (just north of the stadium).

  • Getting there: Jamsil section in Songpa, go out exit 2 of Sincheon Station on line 2, stop 217
  • For one hour you can rent: Bicycles and Skates for 3000won and SkateBoards for 6000won)

If you’re looking to try longboarding, there aren’t a lot of places in Seoul where you can “rent” and try one of them out. Fortunately, near exit 1 of Ttukseom Hangang Park you will spot EURO Wheel. It’s a rental shop that offers a wide array of items including striders, electric scooters and most importantly, skateboards and longboards. Skateboards and cruisers will cost 5,000 won by the hour while longboards will be 10,000 won by the hour. Helmets will cost an extra 2,000 won. Head over to Ttukseom Hangang Park and join the longboard movement!
