Best Coffee in Seoul? Here’s the Evidence…
Pomellow bean isn’t just a coffee shop. It is also a working roastery and an essential archive of coffee beans…This way coffeeholics!
The photo below shows a typical day at Pomellow Bean, and it’s packed. It seems that it is common knowledge how great this coffee is.
An Elegant Atmosphere
I really loved the chic, high-end aesthetic of this place. The dark blue walls really complement the golden theme of the brand, giving the shop an air of refinement.
The minimalist lighting and interior provides a soothing, clean effect while highlighting the coffee bags as the star of the scene. They look like an open showcase that exhibits the coffee bags for all to explore.
Special blends are exhibited on the counter for you to have a closer look. The title of “coffee shop” or “cafe” doesn’t do this place justice. It is better suited as a museum or library showcasing all things related to coffee-making and tasting!
Let’s Browse the Fresh Bean Library!
The illustrious shelves feature coffee beans from all over the world, including Guatemala, Costa Rica, Ethiopia and Brazil, countries famed for their coffee. The bags also have labels that inform you the tasting notes of each blend. I didn’t realise that coffee was so versatile until I visited the unique Pomellow Bean.
If you’re a coffee novice, don’t worry. There is a chart — or cheat sheet — featuring all coffee bean codes in one place. Each code has its own tasting notes, varying from floral and citrus to honey and nutty. There are so many fun flavors to try out and you can choose the mix of flavors in your coffee according to your own taste.
Every week the staff choose a “Weekly Bean” to put in the spotlight. When I went, the bean of the week was from Guatemala. You can see it had hints of raisin, chocolate with a smooth texture. Additionally, there is a web that indicates even more specific flavour information including its degree of sweetness, balance and aftertaste.
Professional Service and Quality Taste
Despite the popularity with the crowd, thanks to the speed and skill of the staff we were drinking our delicious coffees in no time!
Trust me that this place should be on every coffee lover’s list. When you visit Pomellow Bean, you can expect some great quality coffee beans with an elegant ambience. Best coffee in Seoul? A drastic claim that I am inclined to agree with. A cup of their coffee is a fantastic way to start or end your day…if it’s the latter, maybe go for a decaf.
