Starbucks Bukhansan is Seoulโs newest Starbucks branch. Although you can easily find this coffee brand all over the world, this location, without a doubt, stands out from the rest. Still within Seoul city limits, Starbucks Bukhansan takes you to another world and immerses you in nature.
Starbucks Bukhansan Breaks the Mold

When I think of Starbucks the first thing that pops into my mind is expensive drinks and an emerald green mermaid. Being such an international company, most Starbucks locations have the same cookie-cutter vibe.
Theyโre in a mall near the food court filled with people reading their unnecessarily complex books, or writing a screenplay about a forbidden love affair hoping to be the next Shakespeare. But, every so often, that emerald mermaid breaks the mold.
Once in a while, we get an authentic experience of a coffee stop. One of the most impressive Starbucks to date has to be Starbucks Bukhansan in Seoul.
The Interior
The best quality branch is, as real estate agents would say, all about โ location, location, location.

Nestled at the bottom of the Bukhansan mountain you have an abundance of things to look at. Starbucks Bukhansan is new and has a modern finish. The windows are floor to ceiling to ensure that every seat has a very inspirational view to go with the love stories, no doubt being written here.
While you are here, you have two floors to choose from. Additionally, there is a rooftop to fully immerse yourself in the views.
First Floor of Starbucks Bukhansan
The first floor allows a pleasant view of the field directly opposite while having some trees in the background for your next big idea to pop out of. I have no children, but I can imagine how blissful it would be to let them run in the grass tiring themselves out while you stay in a temperature-controlled room enjoying a crisp coffee and a snack. The only thing you need to be aware of are those children eating grass, as thatโs what they do, I assume.
Second Floor
The second floor has a major open-plan layout. You will find massive windows all facing the nature around you. It is perfect for a sunny day, as you can sit around and soak in some vitamin D while debating with your significant other about whether mint chocolate is an amazing flavor or toothpaste (It tastes like toothpaste and if you like it, I hate you.)
Rooftop
Now for me, the most interesting part of this Starbucks is the rooftop terrace. It is able to sit around 50 people, and you have a variety of options that allow you to take in the mountain range. This rooftop helps you escape from the city and pretend youโre not 30 mins away from downtown Seoul. Which you are.

On the rooftop you have a choice of some lounge chairs or normal chairs. What is particularly great is itโs a mix between a rock garden and a rooftop to immerse yourself in nature while being surrounded by it. For Instagram professionals, thereโs a photo zone on the top floor layered with snow-white pebbles leading up to a religious Starbucks altar. This and the backdrop of the mountains is sure to get your likes up by at least 137%.
The Breathtaking Views
The mountains of Bukhansan are truly a beautiful view. At Starbucks Bukhansan, youโll be surrounded by trees and there are bursts of light brown spots which are the massive rocks that create the mountains.
It is an extremely relaxing view. This is the kind of view that takes your breath away the 1st and 53rd time youโve seen it. What makes this view even sweeter is the fact that if you look hard enough you can spot the hikers battling up those very bursts of brown while you are sipping on a beverage and snacking on a cake. I mean who needs to be healthy when you can have a walnut chocolate fudge cake โ bring on round two I say!
So, whether youโre a normal person looking for a coffee, or looking for an escape from the big city, I recommend coming to Starbucks Bukhansan. Itโs close to the city but shielded by the mountains, allowing you to get some fresh air and Instagramabble pictures.
