The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) has been working with Football Club Seoul (FC Seoul) since 2013 to operate a free youth soccer program. Over the past eleven years, the program has gained great popularity with participation of about 2,300 children of multicultural households, providing opportunities for them to grow up healthy and make friends while adapting to Korean society.

The city is currently recruiting 110 children (ages 5 to 12) from multicultural households and foreigner families residing in Seoul from Feb. 28 to Mar. 10 for this year’s program. Then, the selected children will be able to join training once a week from March to the end of November at 12 stadiums, including the Gocheok Sky Dome, Tancheon Sports Complex, and Boramae Park, and also be able to participate in various special activities such as watching FC Seoul’s home game (one ticket per person).
Those who wish to participate can visit the official SMG website (seoul.go.kr) or portal (mcfamily.or.kr) and apply online via Google Forms.
Applicants must then submit the necessary documents via email to the person in charge within five days of completing the application, and the selected children will be separately notified of the schedule by FC Seoul.
Seoul hopes that this football program can help children of multicultural households to grow up healthy, adapt to society, and develop their self-esteem.
