What can I do to get awards?
Volunteer Work (봉사활동)
Volunteer work is in fact the best thing you can do to gather awards and diplomas. Because usually the companies give you one just for participating. Although it is not the case for all. Due to this, you must ask in advance what type of benefits you will have.
It is a great way to get experience as well. Because when we say volunteer work, we do not mean only the general type of jobs. Such as donations, and stuff like that. We mean that you can also work in your field. And who knows? Maybe the company could like you to the extend of hiring you!
Getting a bit bored? Then we suggest you to join a club!
Not only you will make new connections, but also you will learn how to work with koreans. Because of this, it can become an advantage for sure.
It is also a great way to make friends as well. Since you will get to know people that have the same interests as you.
More than finding a long term job, you will be able to find a short term one. But do not get demotivated by it! Because even if you can only work a short period of time, it will still count as experience when you are looking for an actual work.
And the best thing, is that big companies also use this website to look for new workers. Which means that you can build a strong CV after working with them.
Who knows? If you are lucky enough, you can get hired!
Also, you can find internships.
This is my favorite part of this website! That you can participate in contests. As nothing feels more satisfying that winning in a big one. Not only you can get money as a reward, but also some recognition. Plus it boosts up your confidence. Since you realize that your work is better than what you thought.
If you want to gather as much awards as you can, I think this is your best option!
How to participate?
As seen in the picture below, you can choose any option ㅡ of all we mentioned ㅡ from the menu. There, you will find a listing with all the activities available. You can click here to go to the website.
In case you do not find anything that attracts your attention, you can just write your field in the search bar. This way, you will have a better chance to find something for you.
Depending on your field, you might be required to have at least basic knowledge of korean. For me ㅡ for example ㅡ, since I am an illustrator, it was not necessary in any contest I joined.
To know if you can participate or not, you should check what it says in ‘참여대상’. Since some contests are only for students. And some others, are for everyone. These, you can find them as ‘대상 제한 없음’.
With linkareer, get ready to soon get hired! Because with all the benefits that you can get, you might get a stronger CV. Which will help you to get closer to your goals, for sure!
