Korea has plenty of great Western food, many of which are located in the nation’s capital, Seoul. However, I recently visited a French restaurant in Ulsan on the South-Eastern coast of Korea. Craving French food while in Ulsan? Check out La Bistro.
La Bistro
La Bistro can be found near Taehwagang Bamboo Forest, a key tourist destination in Ulsan. What’s more, the location features many other restaurants as well, so you can check out the menus of multiple places with ease.
At La Bistro, the main dishes vary with the day and season. The menu outside the restaurant also has the prices on it so you can freely make your decision before entering. So, what is on offer at La Bistro in Ulsan?
First Impressions
Once you enter the restaurant, you’ll notice that the dining area is divided into two sections. The restaurant has a cute aesthetic with a hole-in-the-wall atmosphere. There are some small light bulbs hung on the wall along with colorful pictures and decor. While we visited during the daytime, it would make for a cool date setting in the evening.

The Food
The restaurant loosely follows a French theme, with fusion menu items being the most common. To that end, we ordered a pizza and fried rice. I really loved the presentation and they tasted quite fresh, but the flavours were not mind-blowing. In fact, the highlight of our visit was our waiter who was really polite and friendly.
We finished off with orange juice and ice-cream, again, nothing special but tasty.

Conclusion
Overall, my friends and I enjoyed our visit to La Bistro in Ulsan. It is certainly not the cheapest restaurant on offer, but this is to be expected of Western-style restaurants. Furthermore, the food is also in-keeping with the standard of other French restaurants I’ve visited in Korea.
