Do you want to know which skincare brands are actually popular among Korean consumers? Every year the Customer’s Council of Korea conducts a survey to find out which brands are the most popular domestically. This year, 2,947,860 Korean citizens participated in a survey to uncover the top Korean skincare 2022. Here are the results:
Ma:nyo – Our Vegan: Korea’s Favorite Skincare Line
Ma:nyo is one of Korea’s favorite skincare brands. Their products are found at virtually every major retailer in the country. While many of their lines are extremely popular, none have gained as much name recognition so quickly as their recently released Our Vegan.
They are among the first Korean skin-care companies of this size to release a vegan formula domestically. In fact, their brand messaging as a whole has come to reflect the more eco-conscious demand of Gen-Z consumers. Their three core values are now with children, with animals, and with the earth.
The three most popular products in their My Vegan line are 5 Grain Scrubbing Foam, SunFlower Glow, and Sun Cream Basic.
Zombie Beauty: Korea’s Favorite Mask Pack

Zombie Beauty is Korea’s 2022 top trending mask pack brand. The brand has one of the most unique approaches to skincare of any brand out there. As the name suggests, this brand is inspired by zombies and all things that go bump in the night.
The brand focuses on combining the attributes of zombies (monstrous, mythical, marvelous) and that of beauty (pretty, chic, charming). With the values of amusement, real effects, and imagination and their slogan -” WHY NOT? “, campaigns are daring, unlike anything else seen in Korea.
Their products have been extremely successful despite their limited product offerings. All they sell is four varieties of sheet masks, a peeling serum, two soaps, and two antibacterial products.
The four mask packs that have won them their fame are Pumpkin Patch for moisturizing, Witch Pack for calming, Zombie Pack for tightening, and Mummy Pack for anti-aging.
Skin1004: Everyday Luxury
Skin1004 is the parent company of Zombie Beauty, but most Koreans have no idea. Zombie Beauty is rebellious and loud, whereas Skin1004 is associated with elegance and purity – completely opposite target demographics.
The brand’s color palette is mainly gold and white with the occasional pale blue. Leading to a clean-cut impression that has led to the brand being viewed as an affordable luxury skin-care brand.
Their top-selling products in Korea are the Centella Ampule, the Centella Light Cleansing Oil, and the Centella Ampule Foam.
Bonajour: Indie Brand
Bonajour only uses the highest quality natural ingredients in their products and is the go-to brand for consumers with sensitive skin.
The brand is all about nature and the environment. Their products are vegan, non-GMO, and cruelty-free. Additionally, their packaging has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council as being eco-friendly.
Their Instagram reflects their values – especially on the vegan front. Interspersed between product offerings are cute animal pics. If you buy their products, be sure to take a picture with your pet for a chance to be featured on their Insta accounts!
Their three best sellers in Korea are Green Tea Water Bomb Moisture Cream, the Green Tea Bomb Toner, and the Peptide Water Bomb Cream.
Melixir: Most Eco-Friendly

Melixir is another down-to-earth Korean skincare 2022. Like Bonajour their packaging is FSC certified eco-friendly but they go even further. Their 100% plant-based products are both ECOCERT and USDA Organic approved.
In fact, Melixir might be the most eco-friendly skincare in Korea. Domestically, the brand has partnered with terracycle to help reduce waste from used packaging. You can register online to have your empty products picked up so that they can be reused. Every month they post reports to their instagram on the number of packages that have been recycled and the impact it has had on carbon reduction.
Melixir’s designs are minimalistic and gender-neutral allowing them to appeal to a wide audience. Their best-sellers are the Vegan Deep Hydration Cream, the Vegan Squalane Face Oil, and the Face and Body Soap.
