February has been marked by many pop-up stores in Seoul, but none are cuter than the Kirby Pop-up in Sinchon
Overview of the Kirby Pop-up
The ‘Kirby of the Stars’ series, celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. And so, Nintendo Korea prepared the ‘Kirby of the Stars 30th Anniversary Pop-up Store’ on the 2nd basement floor of U-Plex in Sinchon, Seoul. The pop-up store will be open from February February 18th to March 2nd. So, this is your last chance to visit!
This pop-up store celebrates the launch of ‘Discovery of Stars’ and boasts a richer lineup of 300 types of products than the pop-up store held in Yongsan last year. In addition, ‘Star Kirby Wii Deluxe’ is about to be released on Nintendo Switch this year. ‘Kirby of the Stars’ is an action game that first appeared on Nintendo’s Game Boy in 1992. The core of the game is that the main character ‘Kirby’ swallows enemies and copies his abilities, and has been loved by people of all ages for over 30 years with simple controls and cute game fun.
Entering the Store
Upon entering the pop-up store, visitors are greeted by hovering ‘Kirbies’ that seem to fly through the sky.
Inside the store, there are more than 300 kinds of products. They include Kirby dolls with cute expressions to puzzles, books, and more!
No Reservation Sections
On the main side of the pop-up store, there are various decorations with the theme of ‘Kirby of the Stars’. Also, they have a photo space with various photo zones commemorating the 30th anniversary.

All are accesible whether you have a reservation or not. As a result, they is crowded with people that use it as a way to pass time while queuing up for the entrance.
Next to the photo zone is an experience zone for the ‘Kirby of the Stars Wii Deluxe’ scheduled to be released on February 24th.
Reservation-Needed Experiecnces
For reference, the pop-up store is for those who make a reservation in advance, but you can experience the game experience zone without a separate reservation. It is basically a space dedicated to being a play zone where you can play Kirby series games. One can play Kirby Discovery of the Stars and watch promotional videos for the Kirby Wii Deluxe of the Stars. Kirby Discovery of the Stars can be played as a demo version and can be demonstrated for up to 15 minutes per person.
Advance reservations are closed. However, on-site reservations are possible! Now, reservations can be made through the tablet right in front of the Kirby pop-up store. On-site reservations can be made for up to with accompanying person only. On-site reservations are closed on the weekends starting at lunchtime, and weekdays are closed after a little more time. The exact on-site reservation status of the day is announced in real-time through the official Kirby 30th anniversary pop-up store Twitter, so please don’t waste your time.
