Are you not afraid of heights? Are you thrilled to try exciting adventures while traveling? Would you like to try sky walking while traveling in Korea? If your answer is yes, then try to visit Janghang Skywalk in Seocheon. Janghang Skywalk (์ฅํญ์ค์นด์ด์ํฌ) is a skywalk just beside the beach located in the province of Chungnam. It is an observatory that allows visitors to walk on the 250-meter-long skywalk with an awesome view of the beach.

Poetโs Sky Road: The Way to Janghang Skywalk
On the way to the observatory, the lush green forest with tall pine groves will welcome you. This path through the tall pine trees is called โPoetโs Sky Roadโ. If you are a person who loves walking while hearing the chirps of the birds and feeling the breeze of the nearby seaside, then you will definitely enjoy spending some time at the sky road before heading to the Janghang Skywalk. Plus, you can even take Taylor Swiftโs Folklore-inspired photos in this area.
Janghang Skywalk Observatory
From the information and ticket booth, you will have to walk up 91 steps to get into the skywalk. If you are courageous then you wouldnโt have any problem traversing the 91 steps. But if you are a little bit scared, donโt forget to hold the handrails and refrain from looking down. Just walk straight and see the beautiful view ahead of you.
While walking along the skywalk, you will see a small monument as a tribute to the naval battles that happened in that place a long time ago. It is also the reason why the other name of Janghang Skywalk Observatory is Gibeolpo Naval Battle Observation Deck (๊ธฐ๋ฒํฌ ํด์ ์ ๋ง๋).

As a historical background, Gibeolpo, also known as Geumgang Estuary, was the first international battlefield in Northeast Asia. It is where Baekje, Japan, Silla, and Tang fought for domination over the Korean peninsula in the mid-7th century. The Geumgang Estuary was once the military and diplomat gateway when Ungjin and Sabi were the capital cities of Baekje. Isnโt it amazing that you to set your foot in one of the historical places in the peninsula? My teacher, classmates and paused our walk and took some photos with the historical monument.
From the observatory, you can have a panoramic view of the area with the sea and the tall pine trees from the forest. The skywalk and the pine trees are as tall as each other so you can even see birdโs nest on some trees.

Seashore
Lastly, once youโre done with the skywalk, you can also go to the beach just a few-minute walk from the observatory. Though the beach sad is a little bit muddy and not suitable for swimming, it is still a pleasant experience to walk on the seaside and hear the waves of the ocean.
Thereโs also an area near the seaside with tall lush grass where you could take Instagram-worthy photos as if you are at Seoulโs Haneul Park.
From Janghang Skywalk Observatory, you can also visit the nearby National Ecology Park. It is a high-quality ecological research education space. Its exhibition halls allow people to personally observe and experience the five major climates of the world. It only takes about 15 minutes to get there via car.
Admission Fee
The admission fee is pretty cheap at 2,000 Korean won per person. You can buy tickets from the ticket booth just below the observatory.
