Using a diagnostic technique, robotics, and staff expertise, they will create a foundation that perfectly matches your skin tone in only 40 minutes!
The Laneige Bespoke Neo system was designed to make custom color base makeup accessible to everyone. Most Korean brands only offer one or two shades of foundation. However, Bespoke Neo can create over 150 shades of foundation in both cushion and liquid foundation forms. Let’s take a closer look at how Bespoke Neo does its thing!
First, when you arrive for a Bespoke Neo experience, you will be greeted by a staff member. They will sit you down and you will have the opportunity to tell them all bout your skin condition and areas of concern.
Also, you don’t have to worry about language barriers. The staff are great at English and there is a tablet available where you can enter your information directly.
Next, if you are wearing foundation already, staff members will help you to remove it.
Once your foundation is removed it’s time to color match! You will be asked to hold a color wheel to different parts of your face while a program on a tablet determines your coloration. Naturally, there will be some differences on each part of the face due to sun exposure. So, don’t be too shocked when it tells you your forehead and chin don’t match!
After a good dose of technology, it’s time for a human touch. Based on the program’s assessment, there may be two to three color options that suit you best. This is mainly due to variations in color on each part of your face, and a color difference between the neck and face.
For each of your color matches, an expert will prepare some samples for you to try on. They will apply each option to your face at once, and allow you to see it in different lighting. After seeing your options, it is up to you to decide which one is best.
Once you have chosen a foundation color and product type (liquid foundation or cushion), you can enter the name your want written on the packaging. You can get a foundation with your name on it (Korean or English), and also add some fun characters, such as hearts or stars.
Once that is done, just tap submit and suddenly a robot on the other side of the room will come to life!
Once Bespoke Neo receives the task of creating your custom foundation, it is time for action! The adorable little robot not only makes custom foundation, but it also puts on a show. While it is mixing your foundation and depositing it into its packaging, Bespoke Neo will do a little dance and also throw in a bit of slapstick comedy.
It only takes about five minutes for Bespoke Neo, the robot, to create your custom foundation. Once it is done, a staff member will wrap it up in a lovely package, and you can get 3 free samples! They will also give you a card with your color information, and keep it saved in their system so that you can return for a refill when needed. Laneige Bespoke Neo does have limited spots available and is an extremely popular service. In order to reserve a time slot, you are going to need a little bit of luck and a whole lot of speed. Appointments open at the beginning of each month, and close once all of the time slots have been filled.
