Known as an international furniture company, IKEA is not only famous of their high-quality and classy but affordable furniture, they also have a special department “IKEA FOOD” which serves famous Swedish-style dishes!
We hope you’ve got an appetiteikea food
Definitely not a bad idea to enjoy IKEA restaurant and cafe after having a tedious furniture shopping when some even visit to IKEA only to grab a bite to eat in the restaurant!
Foods you can expect
The main dishes you can get in IKEA are pork steak, salmon fillet, spicy chicken steak, and, the signature dish – Sweden meatballs! Also, you could get mushroom cream pasta, pork cutlet, kimchi fried rice and more in IKEA Gwangmyeong branch. All are sold at very reasonable prices!
My favourite among these foods are Sweden meatballs. They come in12 or 8 or 4 pieces, with the standard 12 pieces sold at 5900 won. The meatballs are accompanied by mashed potates and the essential dollop of Lingonberry jam which is the best pair of meatballs.
Indeed, not only they have the main dishes, they have various side dishes and desserts which are really cheap and of good value. For example, french fries, chicken drumstick, egg tarts, scones, blueberry cheese cakes, apple pie, and more. The number one among the desserts and side dishes absolutely goes to apple pie. It tastes so good. I love how the crunchy part of the pie and the sweetness of the apples harmonize in a bite.
Getting food in IKEA restaurants
One of the reasons I like IKEA food is I get to put all the dishes on adorable trays and move it using a cart to my table! Before getting the food, arrange all the trays onto your cart and get some appetizers like cakes and salads. After that, you will reach the counter where you could get the main dishes. Just let the staff know the dish you prefer and they will prepare and put in on your tray! Next, get the desserts and side dishes by self-service. Lastly, get your cup for 1000 won each for the unlimited water and soda. Before you could sit down and enjoy the food, the cashier will calculate the amount to be paid. You pay and you are free to go!
IKEA restaurant in Gwangmyeong is really spacious, with different style and design of compartments. Grab a seat anywhere you like!
Also don’t forget to end your shopping with some yummy softserve at the IKEA Bistro near the entrance of the furniture part. You could easily grab a drink or a quick snack at the IKEA Bistro. What can be found there? You could get cinnamon roll, choco cone, soft ice cream, hot dog, meatball sandwich at a really cheap price! Really, don’t miss this!
Let’s spend a day shopping in IKEA and enjoy their delicious and good-value food in IKEA restaurant and IKEA bistro!
