Okay, so you probably know about the frenzy of themed cafes here in Korea. When I got to Korea, I couldn’t stop looking for places to go. There are so many special coffee shops that I would not be able to find back home. I wanted the whole experience, so I made a list of the themed cafes that I wanted to visit. Near the top of the list, was a cafe full of adorable cats!
Today, I am bringing you a lovely cafe that is a franchise here in Seoul. It has 3 different locations where you can visit cats, cuddle them, feed them, and play with them.
Missing Cats and Other Fluffy Friends
Coming from a country where I had a big enough backyard for my 3 pets – two dogs and a cat– I was feeling kind of sad the first few months I was here because I missed them dearly. They are my babies. I even enjoyed sleeping next to my two dogs back home.

So, you can imagine how desperate I was for animal interaction. And, being an introvert, I also craved affection without it being from another human being. So, the first thing I did was to ask a friend to come with me to the café.
Finding a Paradise Full of Cats!
She agreed, being in the same position as me. She was also missing her pets and wanted to cuddle a lovely animal. So we made our plan. We went to the branch that is located near Konguk University(건대). In that area, there are lots of things to do. You can find themed cafés, game cafés, VR places… everything you want to do is there. I even went shooting once!
We walked a little bit and found the café. And when we got there it was… paradise. A place filled with cats, fluffy, big, small, old… every single cat was different from each other and, being cats, had their distinctive personalities.
The entrance fee is 10 thousand won, and we got to choose one drink. You can also buy some snacks for the cats!
I fell in love with a certain cat that was so cuddly it sat on my lap and didn’t let me move. I was not sad about it at all. The kitty purred the whole time and when we started getting hungry –which was our queue to leave– I apologized to the kitten a lot for taking it out of my lap.
We cleaned ourselves because cats shed hair like crazy. While we were rolling the tape against our clothes, we came to know the café had only rescued cats. Plus, they also let you adopt if you are apt enough to have a pet, and will make sure the kittens go to the best families.
So, more than just happy because of the cats, I was happy because someday they would all find a forever home.
