Hospital Playlist Season 1 Filming Locations in Seoul

Are you anticipating for the season 2 of the hit 2020 medical Kdrama “Hospital Playlist”? This Kdrama follows the lives of five doctors who have been friends since they entered the medical school. It also portrays the stories of the hospital’s patients and medical staff. It stars Jo Jung-seok, Yoo Yeon-seok, Jung Kyung-ho, Kim Dae-myung and Jeon Mi-do. Aside from being medical doctors, this group of friends also formed a band where they play instruments and sing to several songs which makes the series more captivating.

The first season aired on from March to May 2020 and the second season is set to air on June 2021. While waiting, here are its filming locations in the city of Seoul that you might want to visit:

Egg Drop (Gangnam Branch)

First on this list is the main branch of Egg Drop [에그드랍 강남본점] in Gangnam area. In episodes 4 and 10, Ik-jun (Jo Jung-seok) bonds with his son U-ju (Kim Jun) at this restaurant. As its name suggests, this American-style diner concept features scrambled eggs as its main ingredient.

Hanam Pig House (Gangnam Branch)

Another filming location of Hospital Playlist in Gangname area is the Hanam Pig House [하남돼지집 강남구청점]. In episode 9, Seok-hyung (Kim Dae-myung) brings his friends to this restaurant after his mother tells him to treat them to some meat. Hanam Pig House is a restaurant chain in Korea that serves charcoal-grilled pork. Unlike most BBQ restaurants where the customers grill the pork themselves, In Hanam Pig House, the pork is grilled in front of costumers. This restaurant chain has over 260 branches nationwide. Kao Kao Pub

The series also featured Kao Kao Pub [카우카우펍]  located in Hapjeong-dong. This is where them Neurosurgery Team have their team dinner in episode 11. This restaurant is also a flming site of other Kdramas such as 18 Again, Backstreet Rookie, Why Secretary Kim and Three Colors of Fantasies.

National Assembly Station

The National Assembly subway station also briefly appeared in the episode 10 of the series. Seok-hyeong (Kim Dae-myung) drops off Min-ha (Ahn Eun-jin) at Exit 4 of this station. Other Kdramas also filmed a scene there like series W: Two Worlds.

Paris Croissant (Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital)

As a medical drama, of course, there are scenes on Hospotal Playlist that were filmed inside a real hospital. For example, the setting for the café is where medical professionals of Yulje Hospital get their coffee and pastry was actually part of Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital, specifically the Paris Croissant [파리크라상 이대서울병원점]. Note that this university hospital is different from the campus of Ewha Womans University in Seoul. Read more about it here.

Seoul National University Station

In addition, a flashback scene in episode 6 of this drama featured the Seoul National University Station, also known as Gwanak-gu Office Station [서울대입구(관악구청)역]. Ik-jun (Jo Jung-seok) and Jun-wan (Jung Kyung-ho) get out of this station on their way to SNU for their entrance interviews.

• How to get there: Take Seoul Subway Line 2 and get off at Seoul Nat’l University (Gwanak-gu Office) Station [서울대입구(관악구청)역].

Su Noraebang (Hongdae)

And lastly, Su Noraebang [수노래연습장] also appeared on this drama in episode 3. This is where Ik-ju (Jo Jung-seok) takes his son to show him where he performed for the first time. Then there’s a flashback of him with his medical school friends singing together in one of the karaoke rooms. Here is a behind-the-scene video:
