Looking for a place to play with dogs and puppies? Then Hey Dog cafe is the place for you. Not only can you play with dogs, but you can enjoy a nice array of drinks available too. Whatโs more, Hey Dog functions as a doggie daycare for independent dog owners, and so you can rest assured that the dogs are healthy, happy and get well-needed breaks from customers. Find it near Daejeon Sky Road!

Arrival and Admissions
Unlike other animal cafes, Hey Dog has 2 types of admission fees available:
- Admission + Drink โ 8,000 KRW
- Admission + Drink + Cake โ 11,000 KRW
Additional beverages, cake and dog snacks range between 2,000 โ 4,000 KRW.
Once youโve ordered, you should take off your shoes and put on the slippers available by the entrance. Then, you can head to the room where the pups are waiting for you!
First Impressions
Hey Dog has a spacious room for the dogs, which produces a fun yet calm atmosphere for both the pups and people. The table area and dog play area are separated from one another, so you donโt need to worry about puppies peeing on your belongings! Furthermore, they even have a photozone, which was a nice surprise.

I visited Hey Dog on a Saturday night and my friend and I had a nice and relaxing time. Not many people were in the cafe at the time (around 9 pm) so we were able to play with all the dogs and choose a table without worrying about the place filling up.

The Dogs
Hey Dog has around 15 permanent resident dogs, while daycare/hotel boarding dogs come and go. I think that 15 is an ideal number of dogs for the space, as all dogs got along well with one another and were able to access โ or refuse โ human interaction as they wished. Additionally, I noticed that all dogs were comfortable being petted and were well-accustomed to strangers. If you sit on the floor with a blanket, some of them will come and sleep on your lap! However, it is important that you follow the rules of the cafe, including not to pick up any of the dogs.
If you want to be a sure favourite, you can purchase a bag of dog treats for 2,000 KRW. As soon as I entered the room with the dog treats they were all following me with anticipation. Adorable, right? I miss my dog back home a lot and so it was really nice to play with the Hey Dogs for a while.

My favorite Hey Dog member was this little guy ^^^
His name is Taei and heโs so fun to play with because of his hyper personality. He was constantly following me closely and is a master of his tricks!
The Staff
The staff of the Hey Dog was polite and helpful. A couple of them stay at the counter at the entrance to greet new customers, get the orders and explain the rules. I donโt speak Korean very well and they were ready to help out and explain what they could in English.ย

The Hey Dog staff were all so polite and helpful. There were a few staff who manned the counter to greet customers, take orders and explain the rules. Moreover, I didnโt speak Korean well but they were happy to help out and explain in English.

Meanwhile, there were other staff who attended to the dogs. These staff were very attentive to the animalsโ needs and when they saw that a dog wanted some space, they would take them elsewhere for peace and quiet. Furthermore, the cafe was so clean! Animal cafes have a tendency to smell or get dirty but the staff would clean up mess barely seconds after the dogs made it!
