Looking for fresh and healthy alternatives around Hannam/ Itaewon area? Here are three spots that every health nut is sure to love! These places offer yummy new takes on classic sandwhiches, soups, salads and more. With vegetarian and vegan options, there are dishes avalible for everyone.
Root everyday
Located in healthy Hannam, this restaurant is quite hidden which makes it even more of a gem! I discovered this place while wandering around the back streets of Hannam-dong. The menu caught my attention immediately with its healthy bowls and soups.
The first time I went, I tried one of their bowls: the Yellow Bowl which had salmon steak accompanied by roasted veggies like potatoes, broccoli salad, and quinoa. My friend took the Red Bowl which was a Mexican fusion. It had chicken, beans, avocadoes, cheese, and brown rice.
I also tried their soup and toast set. I had avocado toast with mushroom soup. The quantity they provided was high and the toast was really fresh. However, for just one slice of toast, the price was quite high.
Root offers fusion food as well as special menus that they update regularly. Their vegetable roll looks deliciously fresh ~ I will definitely try it out next time I visit.

Just like the previous place they also have soups: Chipotle soup and pumpkin soup. They even have some side dishes like Hummus. The only thing is, the place is quite small so it is preferable to take out~

La ferme
La Ferme is best for brunch, it has branded itself as superfood central. This beautiful Hannam-dong restaurant serves hot and cold dishes with quinoa, avocado, goji berries, and more! With gorgeous plating, it is the perfect spot for a nice lunch or weekend date.
They also have some fusion food such as couscous and quinoa chicken. On the menu is also an avocado salad you canโt miss out on!
As a native of the land of Couscous, I found my meal itself quite dry. However, it is interesting to see this meal reimagined.
As for the salad, Half a ripened avocado is sliced up alongside a big mixed-greens salad with capers, red onion, and thinly sliced salmon. Additionally, I received a thick slice of homemade bread with creamy avocado. Two forms of avocado, the best of both worlds~
