Are you familiar with the term โgolden hourโ? Golden Hour is the photographerโs most beloved time of day: the last hour before sunset and the first hour of sunrise. Also referred to as โMagic Hourโ, you can capture the most stunning, golden photos at this time. Whether youโre looking for the perfect lighting on a selfie, or taking a breathtaking image of a landscape. So which golden hour venue should you choose in Korea? Why not Tando Port, a stunning beach location near Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do.
Tando Port at a Glance
Tando Port is located on the island of Tando, the first island crossed on the path to Daebudo, the Hawaii of Ansan. The port is known as the most picturesque sunset spot in the whole of Gyeonggi province! The small islandโs name of โTandoโ means โisland of black stonesโ and youโll understand why once you arrive at Tando Port.

We arrived at low tide, where the retreating waves revealed the famous black stones. As we walked along the coastal path, we got a glimpse at that jaw-dropping sunset view. Somehow, the warm sunset colors were even more vibrant in winter. The sun like a Jeju tangerine over the calm ocean, doesnโt it just take your breath away?
Neueseom Island Lighthouse
Depending on the time of your visit, you may be able to walk all the way to Neueseom Island, across the mud flat, past the wind turbines. There, you can visit the Lighthouse Observatory for even more idyllic photos. However, the pathway to this hidden gem is only available during low tide. If you arrive to Tando Port a little late, head to Jebudo Island to capture the final moments of sunset. Additionally, as night falls along with cold wind, take respite at a local clam noodle soup joint.

Cafรฉ Haesol
Cafe Haesol is just a stoneโs throw away from the bus stop where you can enjoy the sunset indoors, shielding from the cold weather. The cafe ambience is cozy and comfortable โ just be sure to make a b-line for those window seats!

They offer an extensive choice of beverages for you to choose from, including hot lattes and ice blended smoothies. The cafรฉ is also well known for its double chocolate and walnut dacquoise. If you have a sweet tooth, you can try out their cakes as well!
