‘Gileogi Pension’, a healing spot surrounded by nature
‘Gileogi Pension’ is located in Mangneung-ri, Yongmun-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do. Surrounded by wild forest, Gileogi Pension has a large space of 3,000 pyeong (almost 12,000 sq ft!) It is the best place to heal while enjoying nature.
The forest lounge encapsulates the natural and traditional atmosphere of Gileogi Pension. It carries the essence of a cozy family home from decades past.
Just by looking at the picture, you can see how warm and cozy it is even more so when occupied with restful guests. You can even take a dry mugwort ‘bath’ here, combining the comfort of home with the excitement of trying something new! Mugwort is a staple of traditional Asian medicine, thought to improve blood circulation, relieve muscle pain and arthritis and soothe atopic dermatitis. From a long day of hiking you may have itchy skin, back pain and body fatigue, so take a relaxing break.
The forest lounge room is approx. 285 sq ft, equipped with a kitchenette and refrigerator for cooking simple food. There is a toilet and shower room that will be clean on arrival. At 130,000 won per day, the room is ideal for small families or couple travellers!
The ‘Exclusive Cabin’ at the Gileogi Pension is approx. 1800 sq ft, ideal for larger groups of travellers as there are two floors and can hold groups of 10 for 250,000 won (10,000 additional cost additional persons 10<.) It is one of Gileogi Pension’s most popular rooms! The room is equipped with air conditioning,TV etc. so you can stay comfortably.
The kitchen is equipped with gas stove, extractor fan, refrigerator, rice cooker etc. and there are plenty of tableware, cutlery and utensils. Guests can eat delicious food together and relax as if it were their home.
Enjoy the sunlight pouring in through the large window in the morning, with a cool breeze and panoramic views to greet you.
There is a large toilet with cubicles for both genders, as well as a karaoke machine and space for group meetings and workshops. Enjoy a fun and relaxing time together and forget the stress of everyday life. (Note: use of karaoke machine will incur an additional cost of 30,000 won.)
On the second floor, you’ll find another spacious living room and ‘ondol’ bedroom. Spend a relaxing afternoon enjoying the view of nature from comfortable sofas and listening to music.
When the weather is nice, take a leisurely walk in the forest, play sports and finish the day with a delicious barbecue. It will be a memory to take home with you when you leave. (Note: use of the barbecue incurs an additional 30,000 won.)
The owner of Gileogi Pension grows their own vegetables which you can eat as a fresh side dish to barbecue meats!
At Gileogi Pension, you’ll never get bored. There are plenty of space to relax in and enjoy peace, as well as trying new things and making fun memories. The owner loves music and plays the saxophone, so there is a musical and joyful atmosphere. Many musicians and bands come to stay at the pension.
