Four Trendy and Famous desserts in Seoul, Korea

If you live in Korea you know that coffee shop hopping is one of the famous things among Koreans and foreigners, especially youngster. Coffee shop hopping never gets boring regardless of where you are. Nevertheless, there’s one city that is famous for its coffee shop and coffee shop hopping culture, Seoul. That’s why the whole city is filled with unique and charming coffee shop that you should find space for in your own itinerary. However, today’s aim is to introduce you the famous trendy desserts now in Korea these days.

Croissant + Waffle: Croiffle

Two of my favorite pastries have merged to form the ultimate indulgence. Imagine a buttery, croissant coming together with a warm, fluffy waffle and you have the ultimate “Croiffle.” Have you heard of a Croiffle before? In Korea since spring 2020 Croiffle has become the trendiest dessert among young koreans and foreigners. Especially, in the beginning the famous for croiffle was saddler. Now you can find croiffle pretty much everywhere from department stores to street food in myeongdong. But if you wanna have the best croiffle you should either try Saddler’s one or Frickle prickle one.

Apple crumble

Apple crisp is a dessert made with a streusel topping. An apple crumble is a dessert of baked chopped apples topped with rolled oats and brown sugar. This dessert was very trendy last year as well that many coffee shops as well as franchise coffee shops included it in their menus now. My favorite two places that offer apple crumble are milestone and Laybricks.

Scone

Scones have been so popular these days in Korea. That there is pretty much no cafe now in Seoul that do no have scones included in their desserts menu. Either franchises or small cafes, this dessert is number one so far. Many cafes offer just normal buttery scones, scones with jam, salted caramel scones, chocolate scones and many more. Personally, my favorite is from Loiter Coffee Shelter, it comes with cream and strawberry jam.

Banana Pound cake

Another famous and trendy dessert in Korea nowadays is Banana pound cake. Many cafes now offer pound cakes in their dessert menu. But my favorite one and the one that I tried on many occasions, is the one from Greyt coffee in Seongsu area. The reason why I like this one the most is because it is topped with vanilla ice cream which is my favorite. I really recommend you this place for the best banana pound cake you can find in Seoul.
