Are you looking for a gate way from the busy life of Seoul. Yeosu is one of the beautiful cities you should visit in Korea. It is a port city on South Korea’s East China Sea coast. A breakwater links the port to Odongdo Island, home to red camellia blossoms and a lighthouse with an observatory. This city is known for two main things: Yi Sun Shin and hosting the 2012 World Expo. Here is a list of activities and places to visit in Yeosu city.
Yeosu is known to have many islands, Odongdo is one of the most accessible islands near Yeosu. As you can actually just walk right over from the port. There is a beautiful lighthouse you have to check in Odongdo. There are many other hidden spots you can explore while wandering in the island.
Yeosu Cable Car Dolsan Station
This cableway connects the mainland & Dolsan Island, with a beautiful panoramic ocean and mountain views. Some of the cable cars have glass bottom cable cars. If you want to increase your adrenaline then choose those glass bottom cable cars, otherwise you can choose the normal cable cars. Both ways, you can enjoy the panoramic ocean and mountain views.
The murals of Angel Alley
If you have fun exploring murals and beautiful murals than you should check out Angel Alley. Angel Alley is charming place in Yeosu. In Korean it is called 여수기상대. You can just walk around and enjoy the beautiful murals. It is similar to Gancheon cultural village but it is actually less crowded. Which make the experience more fun and you can take as much pictures as you can. Additionally, you should visit one of the cafes in the area! They have a beautiful view on the sea.
Yeosu’s beautiful beaches
Thanks to Yeosu’s great location, there are many beautiful beaches you can visit. Here are three of my favorite beaches in Yeosu.
Manseongri is known for its black sand. This beach is very known among young Koreans. You can take a lot of pictures here and it is beautiful for sighseeing.
Although Mosageum beach is not as big as others, there are fine golden sands and refined gravels. Among all Yeosu’s beaches, I would say this is the most swimming and sunbathing-friendly beach.
Jangdeung is actually far out from the main part of the city. However, is the perfect place to escape the crowds and hang out with friends.
