As a foreigner, a thing that I could not able to deny is South Korea really provides a lot of opportunities for foreigners. Especially from the aspect of tourism and also cultural experience events. And as a foreigner who wishes to learn more about South Korea, I started to join some activities during my first semester freshman year. Of course, I failed to get some of them, but also successfully to secure some program that I had applied for.
Introduction
So today, I would like to share with you my personal experiences on how I get this kind of information. And what benefits that you will get by joining these activities. Also, let me briefly tell you what some example of tourism activities that you can join as a foreigner in South Korea based on your personal interest.
Travel program
If you are one who loves to travel, then programs like Global Seoul Mate or Wowkorea tourism supporters are a must to try. These programs provide you chances to travel around South Korea at a fully sponsored or really cheap price. For programs like Global Seoul Mate, they will give you a mission to do every month and you need to post the review on your social media account. Sometimes, you are also required to visit some places but they will give you a free ticket or discounted tickets. Also, programs like this also give you some money every month as a reward. So, it can be said as earning while traveling at the same time.
What if you love writing?
If you like writing articles instead of traveling, then you can consider programs likeย Koreabymeย or Honorary Reporter. It is related to theย Korea.net website. These are the websites where you can share your travel experiences or anything related to South Korea. For me, I joined both of these programs and basically treat them as my own diary. Yes, of course, they pay you some money for the manuscript fee. But, what really matters for me is I am able to record and jot down my interesting moments in South Korea. And whenever I look back to my previous articles, I can see how much I had grown from the last time.
Wish to promote products?
Now we had talked about the traveling and writing program. What if you love to promote products using your social media? Yes, there are also programs related to that! For example, Shopee Kr ambassador program, Ringble, Pugshop, Review Us, and so on. Programs like this will provide you some specific products free. And you need to use them and post review content on your social media. However, a program like Pugshop is kind of different. Pugshop is a platform for you to buy some things that you need. And they will pay you back for the money you had paid. So, every time you need something, you can actually go to the Pugshop website and see if the products you want to buy are listed there or not. If yes, then congratulations! You can get back the money you buy those products.
Mentoring program
Next, some of you might also be interested in the mentoring program. As a foreigner, it is a common thing where we can teach primary school students subjects like English. But, the mentoring programs also can be divided into two. One is the volunteering activities and another one is the paid activities. Letโs start with the unpaid one first. I joined a volunteering program in my university during this semester and I teach primary students subjects like English and Mathematics. So, I actually supposed to only get a volunteering hours certificate, but this program also provides me a Huawei tablet. It is so nice and I was so lucky, right? If you wish to earn money by doing mentoring, then you can consider KT mobile mentoring. It is a KT-related program and you will also get one student to teach subjects that you had applied for. And you can earn money after you finish the program successfully.
Conclusion
So, there are actually some more categories that you might be interested and I am going to explain and list them out in the next article. So, if you wish to know more about such programs, then stay tuned for my next article. And of course, the activities that I had mentioned above are all my personal experiences as a first-year student in South Korea. There might be more interesting activities that you might have participated in before and kindly leave them in the comment below if you wish to.
