If you want to take a break from your studies, or you are looking for something new and exciting, why not try going to a museum? Oh wait, I’m not talking about those museums with a solemn atmosphere, where you’re not allowed to take pictures, or touch the exhibits because they are too fragile, and might break into pieces. I’m talking about a museum where artworks are fully interactive. You only need a ticket, an energetic friend and your imagination. So, are you curious? Are you ready to go on an adventure? If your answer is “Yes”, I strongly advise you to read the rest of my article.

The place I’m talking about is called “Alive Museum” or “Trick Art Museum”. It’s not only a cool place where you can have fun during a rainy day in Seoul, but also, it is a place where you can put your logic and creativity to work. Are you wondering where is this place located? Well, it is quite easy to get there, so no need to worry. Just charge your phone or your digital camera, and get ready to capture some of the best moments of your life.

“Alive Museum” is located in Jongno-gu, in the heart of Seoul, on Insadong street 12, Daeil building, B1-2 floors, according to the official website. You can easily get there riding the bus or the subway. I personally prefer subway. If you choose going there by subway, there are two options:
- Take line no.1(dark blue one), and get off at Jonggak station, exit no. 3
- Take line no.1(dark blue one), and get off at Jonggak station, exit no. 3
You must keep in mind that the museum is open between 11AM-6PM, due to covid-19, and the price of the ticket is 12 000 won. You can receive discounts if you are a part of a group, a senior citizen, a person with disabilities etc. In addition, you can also make online bookings, if necessary. For more information, you can visit their official website.

Once you get there, and enter the museum, you will be introduced to a whole new world, where you can almost bend reality, and transform it to the way you please. Everything depends on your imagination. You can literally be a part of famous painting by Gogh or Picasso. You will be able to see more than 20 popular artworks and more than 50 parody works of classical pieces of art. You will become mesmerized by unexpected hilarious photos, optical illusions and by a variety of visual effects created by ingenious minds. I promise you that here you will be able to take the best photos to post on your social media profiles. Your followers will definitely ask you about this amazing place.

If illusions and artworks are not enough for you, you can satisfy your hunger for adventure by taking on the challenges and obstacles of Dynamic Maze, where you can test your abilities to come up with answers in a very short time. You will learn how to break free from a maze while listening to your intuition. Don’t forget to listen to your heart, and follow the path that seems right to you. It will be worth it in the end. I will attach two of my favorite pictures below so you can see a glimpse of my adventure.

Also, in case you are wondering, this attraction is not only place for young people and friends, but it is a great place for families as well. Children will enjoy this place so much that they will want to spend the whole day in the museum. Are you a foreigner and cannot speak Korean? No problem. The staff can guide you in English, so no need to worry. Moreover, if you want to leave your bag or jacket outside, you can rent a small locker for only 1000~2000 won. The minimum time you will spend here is probably 1~2 hours, depending on what your main interests are. However, for me it took about 4 hours because I simply wanted to take pictures of everything, and solve every challenge. I would go there again since I loved the atmosphere so much and the staff who helped me with everything. So, what are you doing this weekend?
