How to get to Elysian Gangchon
Known as the only ski resort that can be reached by subway, Elysian Gangchon is located at Chuncheon in Gangwon-do. First, take subway of Gyeongchun line or ITX- Cheongchun Train and get off at Baeyang-ri station. A free 2-minute shuttle is operating at 20-minute interval from Baegyang-ri station to the ski resort. They used to have a shuttle bus operating daily directly from each part of Seoul to the ski resort. But, now, I guess, they have shut down the operation due to lack of tourists because of the coronavirus. Also, please note that the method using ITX-Cheongchun is only available during winter season!

How to enjoy Elysian Gangchon
Here are some step by step tips on what you should do after arriving at Elysian Gangchon!
Step 1 โ Buying tickets for equipment rental and lift ticket
You may get the tickets at the ticket counter near the main entrance. The lift ticket fees for an adult are 55000 won, 65000 won, and 75000 won for 4, 6, and 8 hours respectively. Please note that the price for weekends are a little bit different from the ones for weekdays. The equipment rental includes a package for board or ski. Ski packages include a plate, boots, and a pole. Donโt forget to also rent for a skiwear. The prices are about 45000 won in average.
Step 2 โ Get your ski wear and equipment
You may redeem your equipment by showing your equipment rental receipt at the equipment counter in the ski house. Tell your shoe size and they will get you the suitable size. If you also rent a ski wear, get them at the other side in the ski house by following the direction shown on the guide boards. You can choose the colors and style of your ski wear according to your own preference.
Step 3 โ Get changed and put on your boots
They donโt have a fitting room. People usually just put on their ski wear and boots on the chairs. Your belongings can be stored in the lockers just near the entrance for 500 won.
Step 4 โ Head to the Slope!
There are three types of slopes for ski riding: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Make sure to check the level before riding on the lift. You will be allowed to enter the lift once you show your ticket which you could clip it on your clothes. It is almost zero waiting time. You donโt really have to line up and wait for your turn although there are many people, thanks to their neat systems and sufficient lifts.
Step 5 โ Enjoy the slopes
Feel the breeze and donโt also forget to take pictures!
Other facilities in Elysian Gangchon
Apart from ski, there are also other facilities provided. You could enjoy all of them if you stay long enough. Of course they have a luxurious and comfortable condominium for those who want to stay overnight. Also, they have an outdoor swimming pool, which I believe is open only in summer season, a golf field, a theme park and also many restaurants and snack bar.
