On Naver now there are ticket reservation sales (limited time only). You can use Naver maps and search Daejeon Shinsegae Aquarium to get access to discounted tickets. However, keep in mind that you must use Naver to pay for these discounts.
The ticket for adults through Naver is 25,230 KRW, down from the normal price of 29,000. For children, tickets are 21,750 KRW, down from 25,000. Plus, when you buy a combination ticket ( adult and kid), you can get a 12,500 KRW discount.
Although sales are only available for a limited time, there are always online discounts available on various platforms. I say if you pay the normal price of admission you are paying too much. There is always a sale to be found!
Note: you can enter the aquarium 1 hour after the online purchase. If you donโt use the ticket, you get a full refund.ย
When compared to the aquarium in Lotte tower in Seoul, this Daejeon Shinsegae Aquarium is a little bit more expensive. However, since the place is relatively new and there is more being offered. And so, I believe it is worth the price.
Interior of Daejeon Expo Aquarium
It takes around 1 hour to explore the whole aquarium. The aquarium is 4 meters in depth. This aquarium is new and it has a spacious area inside with multiple attractions. There are approximately 3,000 kinds of sea animals living inside the aquarium. Many have deemed it the best aquarium in Korea.
The theme of the aquarium is โThe Legendary Sea in Greek Mythologyโ. It combines state-of-art media and content to create a beautiful and mysterious marine world.ย
First, near the entrance, there is a combination of popular content and marine videos to create an enchanting marine world. It feels as if we are entering a dreamy, mysterious under-the-water world.
One thing that I found very interesting was the wine glasses-shaped tank with prominent red fish swimming inside. It created a unique illusion. It felt as if I could touch the sea creatures through the glass.
Next, inside the tank, there is the shrine panorama of Poseidon. On the ceiling, they installed big LED lights to bring forth the most realistic feeling of being under the sea.ย

The aquarium is beautiful and marvelous! It is the best place to visit if you are into nature, especially the sea. The sea animals will not let you down. Plus, if you love taking pictures, Daejeon Expo Aquarium is a must-go attraction. Every corner of the aquarium is carefully designed. Moreover, the employees here will try their best to make your experience the best one possible.ย
One of the best and most unique aspects of Daejeon Expo Aquarium is their mermaid show. The underwater performance features an ancient love story between a prince and a princess. It was crafted for kids. However, as an adult, this show amazed me with the scale and professionalism of the actress. This remains the best experience I have ever had in Daejeon!
