Donggyeong Suhi: Affordable Sushi in Nonsan

Although Nonsan, being a small city in the middle of Korea, is cheaper than a lot of places in the country, especially compared to Seoul, some things remain the same. One of the things on this list is the price of sushi. Sushi is my all-time favorite food. So, I decided to go on a hunt for affordable, yet delicious options in Nonsan, and that is when I found Donggyeong Suhi.

The Restaurant

Donggyeong Sushi (동경초밥) from the outside is like any other simple Korean restaurant. It has a yellow sign with red letters in that classic bold font. So if you do not read it right, you could easily mistake it for a place that serves Korean food.

On the inside, you see a lot of tables, so the place is ready to receive a lot of customers. No wonder they were quick on our order, and on the delivery of our delicious sushi!

Donggyeong Suhi Menu

As is the standard for this type of cuisine, they divide the menu into single-type sushi options, sets of mixed sushi, and other types of dishes.

Among bowls, sets, and fried goodies, the one that I frequently go for is the lunch special. Of course, they have many options for fish, seafood, and sashimi.

However, the lunch set comes with 8 assorted pieces of sushi, udon, and fries shrimp, all for 10,000 won! The assorted sushi usually includes shrimp, tuna, and salmon. The other pieces can vary.

You can tell that the fish here is fresh. It was a great experience and writing about it already made me decide to go back there!

This place also allows the “all you can eat” option, which I will still have yet to try as it is a bit above by budget.

Just so you have an idea, the price for other types of dishes, like tonkatsu and udon, are 5,000 Won to 8,000 Won. This is extremely cheap when compared to other places

Conclusion

I do not eat sushi as often as I used to (or as I would like to) here in Korea. But the options at Donggyeong Suhi, especially the lunch menu, definitely make it easier for me to deal with my cravings while abroad. The fish is fresh, the service is quick, and the prices are great for such quality!
